Had a phenomenal dinner at The Bistro this evening. Food and service was exceptional. Parmigian haddock on a bed of spinach was... exceptional. We chose the restaurant to celebrate our daughter and her finance’s engagement and loved the menu choices for our family’s... mini vacation in Wolfeboro, NH. Our reservation was for 6:30pm and we waited for way too long for our salads…an hour and thenour entrees were even longer. We didn’t get served until 8:20pm. It closed at 9:00pm. People who are seated after usalready ate and were leaving. After my husband politely asked for the manger, and she came out and asked what the problem andwas stone faced and rude and acted as if she could care less about what we were celebrating. They offered us free desserts, butwe will never go there again even though the entrees were delicious once we finally got them. Read more
We have patronized this restaurant regulary for years when staying at our vacation home. That said, we had always been very... pleased with all aspects of the restaurant (food, service, cleanliness, etc) and considered it to be the best eatery inWolfeboro. Unfortunately, after two visits to the restaurant during ths past week, we have pledged not to return in the future.The first of the two visits was sub-par (we generously considered it may have been an anomaly) , but the second visit wasdeplorable and confirmed in our minds that the restaurant was now totally unsatisfactory. Specifically, the overallattentiveness of server was horrendous (had to wait far too long for menus and water which were totally under her control...andher attitude was uncaring and unpersonable); bar service was terribly slow, and I'm making generous allowances for therestaurants understaffing; entrees were exponentially lower than we experienced in prior seasons (my son wouldn't eat morethan 1/2 of one of his steak tips, and my wife's salmon was extremely low rate). And, we waited more than 1/2 hour postappetizers ( which we delivered slowly but, in fairness, were OK) I can continue , but will sum it all up by saying that diningat this restaurant (at least at this point in time) should be avoided if you value quality, service and fare. 3 of us ate at O’s Bistro on Saturday, 7/9/22, for dinner - we had a 6pm reservation. There were two other large parties... scheduled in the same room at the same time. The noise was so bad, it gave us all headaches - we could barely hear ourselvesthink. Our waitress was superb, even though it seemed she had more than she could handle with the adjacent large party. Thefood was very good - we all had beef entrees and enjoyed them very much. If we had it to do over again, we would not havestayed - the unacceptable acoustics got on all of our nerves and severely decreased our dining pleasure. Read more
Modern and refined, I loved every app, entree, & dessert. (apps: brussels spouts, orange chicken, bistro chips. entree: fried... rice, roasted chicken, fish n chips) and to complete the 5 star experience - a wonderful staff (shout out Matt & Patti!) also,both sangrias 10/10 Read more
Almost a great experience First time visitor. Anniversary dinner with my wife so I was hoping for a very very memorable... experience. In making reservations, was overwhelmed by the politeness and courtesy of both the hostess, Patti, and the frontdesk innkeeper staff person, named Shannon. This first impression was in dramatic contrast to our actual dinnerexperience. When checking in for our 7:00 PM reservation, there was a back up at the hostess stand. Patti appeared to be doingeverything on her own, and had no greeting assistance from additional staff. After being seated, things started to fallapart. Though Patti had prepared and presented a bottle of our select white wine at the table, my preference for a cocktail wasthe start of our service issues. Possibly due to a back up at the bar, my cocktail wasn’t delivered to my table for at least20 minutes. It was apparent that they were short staffed this evening, and the wait staff was being assisted by bussers who weretrying to help. It was clear that the wait staff was overwhelmed, and that the bussers weren’t necessarily trained toproperly assist. A request to have our wine put on ice at the table was met with a “deer in the headlights look”, as if itwas out of the ordinary. The wine requested in advance was in a bucket without ice. We ordered a dessert to share, vanilla beancrème brûlée, which was tasty. At the same time, I ordered an after dinner drink, that arrived 10 minutes after we finishedour dessert. The crowning blow, was when a busser came by when I was in the middle of my after dinner drink, served 10-15 minsafter our dessert, and asked if we would like dessert. I had to remind her that we had already been served dessert. It was clearthat the right hand did not know what the left hand was doing. I attribute this to being short staffed. Beautiful looking restaurant, lovely ambiance. Our waitress started out great but peetered out. She forgot our second round of... drinks which we ordered before our meal arrived. We had to remind her and ended up getting our drinks after we already ate allour meal. The filet special was amazing however! Great flavor! I got the vegetable pad thai. The dish was super tasty but itwas definitely not pad thai. It was more spicy soy, it was good but not what I was anticipating. My family went to O for Thanksgiving dinner buffet. The whole experience was wonderful. Staff was kind, helpful, overworked... yet patient. The buffet choices were plentiful & delicious!! The prime rib was better than my expectations. I didn't have theturkey or fish my first walk thru. I saved them for my 2nd fill but never made it back. Too full! Fingers crossed this willbe offered next year. We will be back for sure!! Read more
