Showed up for an early dinner (5pm) at Juniper. I did not have a reservation but they were able to accommodate me in a small... nook counter table. I had oysters (delish), the steak (ok), a dessert with 2 glasses of wine. The dessert, a sweetcorn crèmebrulée was a stand out for me. It was excellently delicious! My bill quickly appeared as I was done with dessert, I am going toassume they needed my table. Overall the food was good, the ambience was ok as I did not feel particular warmth from the overallexperience. Read more

Currently my 2nd favourite restaurant in NS and my most frequented. The menu changes often and has always been excellent. My... wife and I keep coming back and work our way through the menu. Read more

OMG! Fabulous. Small space, small menu. Not trying to be all things to all people - simply focused on great food. Fabulous food... & service. Tasty, fresh, interesting and beautifully presented. We r in town only three nights and are already planning a returnvisit. Read more

Juniper does simple delicious food very well. Dinner is more exciting than lunch, but that's how it should be! Elevated but... totally approachable and accessible. Make reservations ahead of time. Host/Server is especially accommodating. Read more

My husband and I have eaten at Juniper since they opened, we have always had a great experience. It is our favourite... restaurant. The food is consistently interesting and delicious and the staff are wonderful. While it’s not accessible theyhave a portable ramp and make no fuss about accommodating us, the washroom is accessible. It’s casual and always superb food. So glad Chef Hopgood came back to NS, our gain. Read more

In the Google system, most 5 star ratings don’t really mean 5/5. Juniper really is a 5 star restaurant. The dishes are... perfectly curated. From the delicious focaccia with flavoured butter to the golden textured Patatas Bravas to the expertlydressed tuna tartare with the most delicious turnip we’ve ever tasted. Everything was spot on. What could be so special abouta fried chicken sandwich? The brioche bun had spring to it. The chicken as high quality as you can find. We didn’t leaveenough room for other mains but for dessert the cream puffs impressed us with their texture. The crème brûlée (not pictured)was well textbook with a delicious bit of white chocolate whipped cream and rhubarb jam. The ambience itself was very nice andthe style of the venue was obvious. Our host was responsive. Tasteful folk music played to set the mood of the Valley. It’sfunny. Sometimes you go to a restaurant with very high expectations and your left disappointed. We knew nothing of Juniper andthe only thing that we could accuse it of is being too perfect. Read more
