We bought a14 pound fresh turkey. Upon picking it up and getting it home we found out it was frozen. I called and was told they... are fresh and it my have been on the bottom. The guys behind the meat counter are pretty cool. They will do about anything I ask now that they have gotten past my Texas... accent. They cut meat to order and cut lots of the meat themselves. They bone the whole Bell and Evans chickens and none arefresher! The quality of the meat is always fantastic. If you want beef or pork, this is the place! One plus is they usually havea small selection of fish. Usually there is an excellent fresh Atlantic salmon, and scallops and occasionally something else.It's is always top quality fish. I've not found better salmon! There is usually a smoked salmon. I like that they offer frozenfood, bread, cheese, some canned items, condiments, etc. so that, other than fresh veggies, you can do one-stop food shopping. Ihave not tried their deli or prepared foods other than a German-style potato salad once, and it was great. Read more
Really great choice for meats. But not just meat, you can find a lot of quality variety. And of course a restaurant.
I love this place. I use to deliver meat and other supplies there. For Omaha beef and city line foods. I know what they have. My... wife and I was there yesterday about 4:15 pm. Where I grew up, these kind of delis were everywhere, so I was happy to find another one here in New Haven, and a great one at... that. The food is great, and the employees are very friendly. Plus, they have a nice little dining area in the back. Definitelyone of my favorite places to eat. Read more
