Still the best butcher shop in the San Fernando Valley. Steaks, Ribs, Marinades, cut to order, and more. They even have an... amazingly seafood selection at another counter. Jim's is just the awesome corner market and butcher shop for the West Valley. Read more

The other day I purchased 3 1-pound packages of frozen veal meat which were supposed to be 10.99 a pound already marked. he... re-weighed them with a packaging on, charging me more money. also it?s the same as the lamb meat. this place used to be good inthe 60s and 70s not anymore. I wouldn?t waste my time or money. Read more

This place is infested with rats. The loafs of bread had holes in it from rats eating it, same with the fruits and vegetables. I... purchased multiple pounds of shrimp and half the time they where bad. The BBQ is never consistent or even consistent on theirschedule. Read more

Excellent customer service, everyone was helpful and knowledgeable. I got a great Prime Rib Roast and they even tied it up for... me to hold it's shape in the oven. Read more

Reason for visiting: pick up a couple of steaks for pre Mother's Day BBQ Date/time of visit: Saturday morning, ~9:15 AM Parking:... in the adjacent lot, free. No valet. Also parking on the street if the lot is full. Party size: 1 Environment/ambience: greatplace to pick up quality meats. They also sell Korean BBQ (limit to 3 lbs per order when I was there, maybe due to the meatshortage) and seafood. They sell other items too (cereal, etc), not just meats. They also have a food truck (Calabasas customcatering) outside every Saturday and Sunday selling cooked BBQ meats and chicken. Smelled great but didn't try any. Service: wasgreat. The wait wasn't too long since I was there right after opening but it was pretty busy. The guy behind the counterexplained dry age, wet age, and tips on seasoning. Food: picked up 2 Tomahawks and 2 porterhouses. 1 Tomahawk was dry aged and1 wet age (marinated in its own sauces). Porterhouses weren't aged. There were other steaks too: NY, prime sirloin, etc. Cost:~$150 for 4 steaks. Tomahawks were more expensive obviously; each Tomahawks were 2.25 and ~2.7 lbs (~$110); Porterhouses were2.25 lbs total (~$36). Read more

Great market! You can find almost any type of meat. Love their weekend BBQ, and they make really good sándwiches.
