Great party sandwiches! The Italian and tuna sandwich is great!
This is a Ranch*1 and Blimpie in a shared location. The food was a bit different than all of the other Ranch*1s that used be... around NYC. The fries were different and the bread was different (maybe because of Blimpie?) The classic grilled chicken camewith lettuce, tomatoes and roasted red pepper sauce on it already (instead of just Romaine lettuce and sliced almonds) and itdid not taste like it was marinated with the classic recipe. In the 90's Ranch One was THE BOMB. It was THE BEST chicken sandwich in NYC. Living in NJ the last 16 years, I thought there... were no Ranch Ones here. I will NOT spend my money at Chik-Fil-A, so, no chicken sándwiches sandwiches for me. Then, whiletaking a little trip down memory lane, I decided to Google it and I saw that there IS a Ranch One on 46, SO CLOSE to my house!!Why didn't I know? I called and ordered for my family, and the employee on the phone (Hector) was SUPER friendly and SUPERhelpful. My husband went to pick it up. The chicken was every bit as delicious as I remember, it was the best salad I've had ina year, and it was SO MUCH FOOD that we put away a ton for the next day. And it's perhaps the cheapest place that we've gottentakeout in a long time. Small drawback: the menu says they sell chicken-by-the-piece (breast, wing, thigh...) but they actuallydon't any longer. A bit disappointing for me because over the years I developed celiac and I can't have a sandwich. But I had agrilled chicken salad, no biggie, it was delish. Bigger drawback: the sign does not say "Ranch One" on it. It took my husband avery long time to find it, and we had to call them for help. There's picture of the exterior on Google Maps, showing a Blimpie'ssign above and a Ranch One sign below (not the usual company logo, just the words), but the "Ranch One" part of the sign is gonenow. When you see the Blimpie's sign, that's the ranch one (like when Dunkin Donuts and Baskin Robbins are in the same store). Read more
