Unfortunately, the location didn’t fit the experience. Beautiful . We planned on stopping in for some drinks and apps and left... with disappointment. The place was at 10% capacity (at best) and the staff seemed to be plenty; but during our 2.5 hour stay, wesaw our server three times. We were only able to have one drink a piece and the appetizers certainly were not appealing ortasteful. When we did get served, we had to ask for plates so we could share the apps. The staff seemed to love to talk witheach other including multiple members sitting in the booths on their phones beside us. I never like to write negative reviews orbe critical because I’ve been in the industry he and know that times are difficult but there was plenty of staff with verylittle service. The table next to us stated that their sandwiches were unpleasant. It took some tables over a half hour afterthe party left to be cleaned and there were cash tips left on some and thankfully the wind didn’t blow it away. There was noemphasis on customer service although the staff certainly seemed entertained with each other, however with the customers it feltlike it was a chore. One would think being located in a wonderful place in a tourist friendly area that the establishment wouldtry to capitalize on it but it doesn’t seem so. This was our first time visiting Woods Hole and eating at the Kidd was one of the highlights of our trip. It was so good we... went back a second evening. We sat on the dock and then again on the porch. The views were wonderful. The menu had so manychoices and we were so pleased with our meals. Our servers, Noah and Kiarrah were friendly and efficient. We had theopportunity to meet both managers, Hunter and Katie. What a pleasure ! And don’t forget to get desert and a cocktail. They arefabulous. Read more
Stopped by for lunch on a cold gray day and it was wonderful! Had a nice table on the deck with a heater - very comfortable. ... Hannah, Jane, and Lily all were wonderful servers with bright personalities. Had the chowder, bisque, fish tacos, clubsandwich, and fried chicken sandwich. All were served quickly, hot, and delicious! Bought a sweatshirt, too! Definitely comingback. Not sure why the zero star reviews were here, but seems very out of character with what we experienced and I suspectthere’s more to that story. Read more
Came in with a party of 5 and all had great food and drinks! I had shrimp cocktail to start that were HUGE and tasty…. Then... got the tuna sashimi which was perfect. The Hurricane Kidd drink was delicious. Others in my party had the generous lobsterroll, kale salad and fish tacos all which were prepared perfectly. My husband and I went to the Cape last weekend and decided to get lunch at the Captain Kidd. I was looking forward to the... onion rings only to find out they are not doing onion rings this year. I was a little disappointed. My husband ordered themussels as a meal, definitely big enough order for a meal. I don't eat seafood but he said the mussels were delicious. I endedup ordering the CK burger and I was not disappointed. It was cooked perfect, just the way I ordered it. Our server wasfriendly and outgoing. I hope to be back on the Cape in a few weeks and will definitely stop in again. Read more
Without a doubt the best restaurant in woods hole. I’m surprised their prices are still so low considering the quality of... their food is so high and this place is right on the water. It has all the staples a restaurant on the cape should have.Everything my family ordered was great, especially the lobster rolls. GREAT bang for your buck. The service was quick and theowner even came out to chat with us which I thought was a nice touch. Can’t beat this place. 10/10 would recommend to anyonelooking for a new spot to try Read more
Rum had at least 20 fruit flies in it. Food came out sporadically and was barely flavorful. Not a place I would recommend
Good atmosphere, beautiful dock, cozy indoor warming stove, prices for drinks can be high (e.g., $14 for a glass of Cabernet... Sauvignon). Check the menu before ordering and ask your waiter what's in your drink, so expectations are set! Read more
