Went o this fish stire as a child. Loved there French fries before I went to bowl at the Ace Bowling Alley. Now I go frequently ... go to enjoy there huge selection of fish dinners. Clean quiet friendly restaurant always busy and full of happy well feedcustomers. You can dine in or take home your food. Love revisiting here. Read more
Very, very disappointing! The fish was so over cooked, that there was almost no fish left in a hollow burnt batter. The 1?x2?... bit of fish that I received , out of two pieces, actually had a bone in it. We ordered two dinners and both were terrible. Wow??how can a restaurant even give such garbage to their customers. Only thing good was the fries. Read more
Amazing fish and chips with an even better price. 2 pieces of fish and fries is a hefty portion for the minimal cost. The... breading actually sticks to the fish (which shouldn't be a lot to ask, but when its done right, it's something to raveabout). The chips, wow, crispy and delicious! Even after the trip home from the restaurant while wrapped in the iconic fish &chips newspaper they remained crispy and sturdy to support the fish to which they (barely) played second fiddle. I like cod,french fries are just so so, but fried fish is great. Service is good, the waitress over there is a very nice little... girl, always be very patien. The enviroment is clean and bright. If I have chance to be woodstock again, definitely I will comehere again. Read more
Definitely recommend Mel's, the food is excellent, the coleslaw is amazing and such a great atmosphere. Will be back
