The atmosphere of the restaurant and service from the waitstaff are excellent! Love the koi pond and the relaxed yet upscale... environment. However! While the sushi and appetizers are delicious, I have genuinely never had a worse Japanese entree than Ihave here. Avoid the chicken katsu, it tastes irredeemably bad--I don't know if it's the house BBQ sauce or some spices they mixinto the breading, but it is an ugly rancid taste that made the chicken uniquely inedible to me. Their fried rice is okay, butthe tempura shrimp and vegetables are delightful. Be prepared to spend: like the other reviewers say, they're nearly double theprice for most of their sushi rolls as other Japanese restaurants downriver. The drinks are tasty and refreshing but notexorbitant. Try the sake! All in all, a nice place for an upscale but not cloying evening out, only with a few duds among thegems. Read more

So if the restaurant owner ends up reading this its only 4 stars due to the pricepoint and the staffing. But 110% kudos to the... chef that was preparing the sushi the night we went. I did not catch his name but he was a kind older gentleman. . So most ofthe sushi rolls here are $4-$8 more expensive than other sushi places in the area and in terms of selection its a little lessthan other sushi restaurants we have been to. But isn't necessarily a bad thing. The food was very flavorful but it took almost90 minutes from when we ordered our food for 6 rolls and they were slightly busy. BUT, my understanding is that 2 of their chefscalled off last minute so it was just the one chef and he gave us a very sincere apology. All in all the bill for 5 rolls and anorder of chicken teriyaki came to $110. We will be back at least once more to see if there is more control with the properamount of chefs and thus less chaos and waiting and if it solves the issues above I will gladly revise my review to 5stars. . Just a side note- nothing bad. We were going to bring my brother here because he likes sushi but he's 10 and we didn'twant to explain the meaning of the "Multiple Orgasm Roll" or the "Viagra Max Roll" . TL;DR: It is a nice little sushi restaurantwith great flavors but the prices are nice for a treat and I will be back. But I have a hard time justifying the price whenthere are 5 or 6 sushi places within 5 miles with 80% of the flavor for 40% of the price. Read more

Coming here was a complete mistake. Prices are outrageous here compared to any other sushi places I have been to. I wouldn't... mind it so much if it was actually good. This has been the first time I had such awful service in my life. His name is Kyle. Hemessed up our order & didn't bring out everything we ordered (he clearly didn't write anything down) we had to wait even longerfor our food to be remade after I told him one of my rolls were missing as well when everything was messed up my missing rollstill didn't come out with the remade sushi. When I asked him about it again he said they are "working on it" obviously heforgot again so I said forget it. We didn't get our vegetable fried rice which again Kyle forgot. Once we got our remade sushi Ihad 3 pieces & couldn't eat anymore the rice was warm & soggy. Never have I had bad sushi like that before. I will never comeback here again. I see why black pine tree had a long wait & they had very little service. Spent 90 dollars to go home hungry. Read more

The overall experience was wonderful, I was not in the mood for sushi so I ordered the the Japanese tenderloin medium rare. The... meat was cook perfectly tender juicy and ful of flavor. We ordered crab egg roll and fried dumplings, the appetizers werepresented beautifully. Rae ordered the surf and turf roll and Cali roll, he said they were both very good. The waiter was veryattractive and well spoken. The chef even came out to ask of the steak was prepared correctly. I will visit the shush bar inWyandotte again. Read more

The sushi was amazing, My favorite is the cruncy roll and I also usually get the spicy California roll to. I tried their lobster... roll from the specials menu, very huge pieces of sushi. Prices were a little pricey on the new menu compared to the old one. Ihave yet to find a place that makes a cruncy roll like they do and it’s definitely a must try! Read more

I can't say enough good things about Sushi Bar! We felt completely safe with the social distancing. Our server, Missy was... perfect. Great with suggestions! We ordered the TNT roll, Lobster (which was AWESOME), The Detroit, and Spider Roll. I got thetoykyo mule, which was fantastically delicious, and my wife got the maddie's garden with gin. Equally delicious!! We will beback!! And soon!!! Read more

My wife and I came here for the first time and had a wonderful dining experience! The sushi was fresh and tasted great, all at a... very reasonable price. The service and wait staff was welcoming, helpful and kind, ordering and receiving our food went verysmoothly. The ambiance of the dining area was also very nice; slightly dimmed lighting, bonsai trees, and Japanese culturaldecorations all added to the fun-factor of our dining experience. And on top of all of this, the location is also great! Rightby the waterfront parks in Wyandotte. Therefore, definitely a 5 star place in my book and officially the best sushi place intown, we will definitely be back! Read more
