Even after a previous bad experience I went back to Cafe Amici in Wycoff New jersey. I ordered the pasta special for the day at... $40 which was to be a shrimp and lobster scampi - wee I got a super slimmy and oily mess with 4 medium shrimp. Ate the shrimp -poorly cooked - ate a little of the pasta. When I complained they offer me a dessert on them - $4.00 dessert!! Really! So leftwithout the dessert paid the bill! Great Service and food quality is the key for a food place and this restaurant is number one! They offer outdoor and indoor... seating and you can bring your own wine, the appetizers were great, pizza and pasta was amazing and the coconut cake wasabsolutely delicious! hands down worst service. very good food, but not worth dealing with the service there. Might as well get takeout from them. had... sat there for over an hour, was not told that our server had been cut. Had to wait to get the check, stir the hostess down, asthey proceeded to not care about our presence when the restaurant was empty. We had waited so long, and had not been helped, ithad gotten to the point where we had to go up to the hostess and ask her to do her job. years ago, I used to come here all thetime, and the service was wonderful. Clearly within the last couple of years, the staff has changed and with that the quality ofservice to changed. I?m very disappointed. I rarely write reviews but this place deserves the 5 stars and a shout out! I took my Mom here earlier today for a birthday... lunch. It was perfect and I am so thankful!!! From the moment we walked in everyone was kind. The hostess was patient andinstead of rushing us to the first open table she instead allowed my Mom to pick a seat and waited until it opened up. She washappy to accommodate the table choice. THANK YOU. Our waitress was attentive, also patient and the provided perfect balance ofgreat service. My mom and I are a little particular and she totally accommodated our requests graciously. BUT WAIT THERE ISMORE: EVERYTHING CAME OUT OF THE KITCHEN LIKE WE ASKED! BUT WAIT THERE IS EVEN MORE! THE FOOD IS BOMB! We had the hummus app -so good! - and both had turkey burgers. DELICIOUS! They are served with sweet potato fries which were also amazing! We ateand chatted and not once felt rushed or any type of way. She even brought us additional drinks at the perfect time. It was justa super nice experience. Atmosphere is clean, warm and comfortable. Food is excellent! Service was fabulous. Lately goingout to eat is totally underwhelming. Cafe Amici is truly a place for friends, family to meet up and have amazing meal in a nice casual environment. All of the food... coming out of the kitchen was amazing?the special Ribeye, the Scallops and even the gluten-free pasta was delicious! From the moment was take over the phone until the moment of pick up the experience was pleasant. I was in the area for an appt... and had never been here. For MLK many restaurants were closed and we decided to give this place a try. We got the Prosciuttowith arugula pizza and the mushroom pizza. I asked for a well filled cannoli and I was NOT disappointed. I believe Nicole wasthe gal who took our order and filled the cannoli too. She was so kind, generous and professional. When I picked up my order Iaccidentally tipped over their tips jar and they were more concerned with me staying calm and enjoying my meal. At first impression I thought it was a little pricey but then realized it is BYOB so that makes up for the price. Cafe is is... furnished in a tasteful Manner and the food is excellent! I had a beet salad with goat cheese and a rack of lamb both weredelicious. The atmosphere is smart casual and not too loud for a nice dinner. Some restaurants can become very noisy but thisone appeared to be just right. The service was very good, my waitress was very attentive. Read more
Food is good. I like their Smoked Salmon Platter. I'll definitely try the Smoked Salmon Benedict next time.
