Reviews for Kuma Sushi & Asian Fusion in Wynnewood, PA
THE BEST SUSHI IN THE AREA!!! SUPER FRESH! NEVER GO WRONG EVERY SINGLE TIME!!! FRIENDLY SERVICE ??
This is our new favorite spot close to home! The sushi rolls were fresh, creative, beautiful and tasty! The toro was perfection... and melted like butter. We also tried the Pad Thai and it was packed with flavor. My daughter was struggling to try and usechopsticks and they were so nice and brought her a little kit to attach to them so she could have the full experience. We can?twait to keep coming back to try everything on the menu!! Read more
Great value for the lunch special. Generous cuts of fresh fish with no need for a "cover-up" with a heavy sauce. Heavy sauce at... a seafood place is always a bad sign. The root flavors, what some call bland, are the true stars in a show in cuisine styleswhere minimalism puts stringent demands on ingredients. Kuma strikes me as true to the sushi minimalism in flavor andperfectionism in presentation. Great to be close to this restaurant. The price beats the subsidized World bank canteen. Thoughin some places I've traveled to, for the price of one dish, you get a buffet, where you order within the buffet menu forlimitless rounds as long as you finish you food (there's penalty for not finishing). But flights to those places cost much more, right? I'm just grateful Kuma is in town. Read more
excellent sushi, I order from them on special occasions. the fish is fresh and the price is reasonable and they serve what's... best for each season. I actually read a negative review about a customer being served the blue fin tuna instead of the yellowfin tuna and how they didn't like the taste. I found it hilarious since the bluefin tuna is the best grade out there (dependingon the season it's hard to come by), but kuma always does right by people and serves what's fresh depending on the season. Docking it a star since there is ZERO indication ANYWHERE that they are currently doing takeout only. We hadn't been in a while... so decided to stop by for dinner one night; checked their hours, saw they were open, and we walk in to see the dining room withtables and chairs stacked everywhere and a worker standing in the front simply to tend to takeout orders. The sushi has alwaysbeen excellent, but we left very disappointed that we couldn't eat and had to go somewhere else. If you are going to be takeoutonly, advertise it! Read more
CUSTOMER SERVICE: Tremendously courteous and friendly staff! I've only called for pick up orders and haven't dined in yet, but I... appreciate that the staff always has my orders ready within 20 min by the time I arrive. Pick up orders are also nicelypackaged, even chopsticks and containers of soy sauce are neatly placed in paper bag to prevent leakage elsewhere into yourorder. It's nice that the staff plans ahead and is organized with their delivery and packaging. ATMOSPHERE: Quaint eating areabut probably isn't the best place to accommodate a large group, but is sufficient for a party of = 6 people. Decor isrelatively modern and clean, not necessarily fancy, but it's certainly nice inside. VALUE: Menu items are reasonably priced. The sushi rolls are slightly smaller in size, which would be my only gripe. It'd be nice if it was proportionally slightlylarger in size and not simply with more rice, but along with the ingredients as well. EATS: Delicious! The sashimi and qualityof the fish itself is phenomenal! I generally get the sashimi dinner combo, along with a few rolls, and I thoroughly enjoy it!Their cuts of fish are top notch. Salmon toro (belly) is a huge thing in LA/Cali and sometimes their cuts of fish are amazinglydelicious, with a perfect blend of fattiness to it that it reminds me of salmon toro. OVERALL: Would highly recommend if you'rein the area! Kuma is most definitely my favorite sushi spot in the Main Line area! Read more
I came because I live close and like sushi and wanted to see if it was really worth all the five star reviews. It was. Excellent... food. Fresh, nice presentation, great value. To sum up, it's no Michelin star restaurant, but it's one I would definitely wantto return to frequently! Bravo! Updates: I continue to be impressed with every visit here. Came two times in two days (withdifferent people). The staff and the food presentation is so thoughtful (we had a bonus orange presentation when we ordered 3orders of the yummy and very fairly priced Mochi dessert). Also, the rainbow poke bowl is amazing, and priced amazingly for thelunch special. So much flavor, so much yum, so much fish. So much quality and value! The ebi poke bowl was great as well. The $1additional for salad side for the lunch entrees was great! Very refreshing. The $1 side miso soup is also great, if salad isn'tyour thing. Read more
Seriously? Look at this salmon avocado roll. Either your sushi chef stinks or you just don?t care. Edit - ordered again. Look... hot fatty the salmon is. What a joke. One star now Read more
