Love Barnes and Noble for the atmosphere and the huge variety of reading material, games, puzzles and coffee. This one isn't as... large as the one in Exton (that one is two stories) but still very nice. Ordered a book from them, waited more than 4 weeks practically a month when we were told it would only take a week. We went... consistently but they would say that it hasn't been processed yet in the system. Just got a call yesterday saying that the bookcame in. Called the next day and they said they put it on the shelf and someone already bought it. I thought they were supposedto hold your ordered book for at least 5 days until putting it on the shelf for others to purchase. Unreliable. Read more

If you?re local to the Reading, PA and surrounding areas then I?m sure you would agree this is one of our hidden gems. One of... the few Barnes & Noble stores open these days. Many people like to enjoy sitting down in the cafe with a coffee and a treat toeither work, have meetings or of course enjoy a good book. The staff have always been friendly and helpful. The book selectionis good and if they don?t have what you?re looking for usually they can order it online and you can pick it up for free there. Read more

It's a sad day today...after going to this B &N for over a decade regularly and always maintaining a membership, I've finally... had to make the final decision to never frequent this place again. An avid book reader and owner of over 400 hardback books(most of which were purchased here), I've come to the conclusion that I can no longer tolerate the incredibly insensitive andrude employees at this location. This isn't a one-time situation. The customer service here has been steadily decreasing over aperiod of a couple years. The employees who work there clearly do not like their jobs. They are impatient, rude, condescendingand void of the ability to just smile! I've met the manager of this store briefly on two occasions and it is evident that hisstaff does not follow his lead, as he is a pleasant and very helpful person. I'll mourn for my brick and mortar bookstore whereI chose to purchase my books in person while enjoying a Chai latte knowing full well that I could purchase the same bookselection at a considerable discount on Amazon minus the latte, of course. Big store and nicely laid out. There?s a cafe area in the front, kids area in the back, media/pop culture and games section on... the right and stationary, journals and calendars in the front. The have a good selection of magazines as well. As far as booksthey have a good selection of fiction with some classic fiction, mystery, modern and historical. They have a few shelves ofgraphic novels too. There is a good selection of nonfiction and reference books too, with history, politics, technical andlanguage learning books. Read more
