This was the only place open. We waited an hour and still no seating. If the wait was going to be 1 -2 hours then they need... to be up front about it. Ordered take-out and the food was cold and was not correct. How do you screw up spaghetti and abrat? In the bag they gave us spoons to eat with.... how do you eat spaghetti and a brat with spoons? The hostesses lookedannoyed the entire time. It was expensive and not worth the wait. Will not be back to eat. Pack your food. Read more

Despite being under-staffed and operating well past 9 pm, the Mammoth Dining Room provided us with the fresh, flavorful food... we?d been searching for all over the park with little success. We ordered a corn chowder, a house salad, the bison bratwurst, and a salmon dish which were all tasty and came with sides of potatoes (mashed/fries) and veggies (string beans/seasonal misc.,or some nicely roasted carrots in this case). Of particular note is their presumably house-made huckleberry mustard, whichprobably came with the bratwurst (we got takeout, so everything was in separate containers). The chocolate lava cake for dessertwas very satisfying even in takeout form. The staff perhaps made our experience a great one. The host, Pamela, was patient andkind while we decided to dine in/take out and what to order (the dining room looks magnificent, but we decided to get food to godue to reasons unrelated to the restaurant. The food came out much more quickly than we expected, and utensils/packagingmaterials were well-considered and eco-friendly. To be sure, the food wouldn?t be considered extraordinary in a city full offine dining choices, but, coupled with friendly and helpful service, it brought my family great comfort and relief after a day?sworth of tiring activities in the park and a desperate need for some nice late-night dining options. It did provide a dinning room for dinner. However, it could be better with more (experienced) staff/chief. I waited about an... hour for a table and would not try both "Bison" and "Italian" sausages there again. Read more

Mammoth Dining Room. After having fun and seeing a lot of natural things in Yellowstone, I stopped by this city to refuel the... car and look for lunch. Yes, I found a good restaurant in the Mammoth Dining Room. The room is nice, clean and comforting. Allthe menu is quite diverse, especially American food but most of them are suitable for anyone. The view is beautiful you can seethe green fields and hills from the window. Read more

Beautiful and elegant fine dining space. The menu features a great variety of selections to choose from, and dishes are nicely... prepares and delicious. Where this restaurant lacks is in the service department; front desk staff are not very unaccommodatingwith simple table selections requests even when the restaurant is far from full. The waitstaff are young and lack experience(summer gig?), and while friendly and polite, can be slow to fully execute orders in a timely manner. Aside that, the overalldining experience is positive! 45 minute wait for a half full restaurant. Waited 20 minutes for someone to get our drink order. Saw general manager literally... running around with sweat dripping down his face. I think they were quite understaffed. Our food came fairly quick and was good.I had a bison burger. Waitress didn't write my order down correctly, but it was taken care of. Elk had walked up the sidewalkwhile we were there, so it took a bit of finagling to get in and back to the car. Read more

We were here on a Sunday in late June. We purposely arrived at 1 PM to miss the lunch crowd. The dining room was less than... half full so we figured it would be quick. It wasn't. I'm not going to write a long review just the highlights. Checking inthe maitre'd was frazzled and we were seated long after others that arrived after we did. They got their food long before wedid. Sitting down the check from the previous customer was on the table with a completed comment card. The comments werepretty brutal. The folks next to us were discussing how they had ordered food and drinks 45 minutes ago but nothing hadarrived. Our food took 45+ minutes to arrive. I'll mention again that it was half empty...and well after 1 when wearrived. The food was actually pretty good. We had elk sliders (a little dry) and a bison burger (they messed up the toppingsbut it was very good) and the kids had a burger and chicken fingers. The check brought to us was wrong but I didn't have thestrength to argue so I paid it but it was corrected when it arrived for signature. The bus girl was fantastic and kept checkingon the food ("kitchen backed up") but the waiter seemed defeated and was less helpful but solidly apolagetic. You dont havemany other options for lunch in the park. They probably know that. Read more

I think this restaurant is one of the most fancy ones I have seen in a national park. Great ambiance , friendly staff and... delicious food. We ordered all vegetarian options available , Mediterranean platter , khous khous and flat bread. All weredelicious and ordered the Yellowstone Sunday for dessert which made my day ????! Helps when you are exhausted with all dayhiking in sun, made my NPS experience much much better. Little expensive but you get a good service and good food in middle ofNP where you do not even have network. Read more
