This is a really funky off the beaten path converted garage station that has been created into a really fun restaurant... experience. The service and food was great. The atmosphere is genuine low country with a kind of down home twist. Always enjoyour time at Harold's Country Club. Lots of fun and well worth the drive! Read more

It?s one those ?if you know, you know? spots. Everyone must stop here at least once. Great staff, super friendly. Locals are... nice and the beer keeps flowing. Music keeps people moving. Inside and out. Read more

My husband and I stumbled across Harold's while traveling 95. We didn't know it was reservation only (were very hungry,... traveling all day with a 5 year old) and they still served us! We loved the atmosphere and before we left we loved the people! We're definitely coming back (all the way from Florida) Read more

A Lowcountry classic that still feels like a slice of home whenever I return. The potluck Thursday dinner (whatever is on sale... at the Piggly Wiggly) and Saturday steaks are pure and simple. The beer selection at the bar is right on, and the pool tablesare waiting. Harold is gone, bless the man, but the family feeling persists. And the jar of pickles pigs feet on the bar mightbe older than I am. Do yourself a favor. Take the Yemassee detour (no speeding through town unless you want to meet Johnny Lawand pay into municipal coffers) and park yourself at Harold's Country Club... Read more

Harold's is a great place for a tasty, down-home supper after a nice, long paddle on the Combahee River (and don't forget... dessert!). We four gals high-fived tonight over the perfect culinary ending to a perfect kayak day. Or if you're feeling low,and missing Aunt Minnie's meatloaf or Grandma's jelly biscuits, well, Harold's on Thursday potluck night might be foryou. Consider whether you should just bring the in-laws to Harold's instead of slaving over a hot stove--they'll enjoy thegarage decor, and you don't have to wash the dishes. Harold's is a local institution that has earned the title. You eat offstyrofoam, serve yourself at the hot bar, and maybe, if they're busy, share a table with strangers-soon-to-be-friends. Pay whenyou enter, after passing the bar up front, and fill up as many time as you like. Service is friendly, and you can learn a lotif you smile and ask questions. Don't expect fine dining. Expect vinyl table cloths, brown gravy, and iceburg lettuce: familyreunion fare from the 60's and 70's. Like I said, tasty! Read more
