We stopped on the way home (in Maine) for a quick lunch. It was a Thursday on the 16 of Sept and still very touisty. Thats great... for the business and state but lunch was slow. The counter service would work fine with lighter crowds but was difficult undercrowd pressure. The help was friendy, however, and did the best they could. The food we ordered was supposed to be quick but thecrowd slowed service down but was still tolerable. We ate outslde and when the food was delivered we could not hear the serverannouce our name. We finally saw it waiting. The food ,itself, was ok. Soup was hot, salad chilled. Typical luncheon fare. Ourlunch cost just shy of $27 for a cup and bowl of soup, an ice tea, and green salad to go. Mkt for lobster roll $35 typical costfor summer touist. The flower garden is gorgeous and the the store is well stocked. Its not a cheap place to be sure butproducts are all high quality with a lot "Made in Maine". So, take exit 7 off 95 for some gift shopping and simple lunch, easyoff and on the highway. Their breakfast sandwiches were awesome! Literally the best my wife and I have ever had. We both had a bacon, egg and cheese on... a Bagel. The bacon was thick and plentiful and it was, without a doubt, the best bacon I've ever eaten. I just wish I livednearby so that I could visit again. Read more
Stonewell kitchen cafe was discovered by us accidently. We were returning from Sanford, Maine and need to take a bio... break. Stonewell Kitchen is a little high end, but has beautiful assortment for breakfast. We had one item each for all thefamily members. There was a bit of delay but the wait was worth while.
