We were very disappointed with Box Hill Mansion. We wanted to try something new to celebrate our anniversary. We arrived early... to have a drink downstairs and the barmaid was fabulous and friendly...but it went downhill from there. We were seated at theonly table that did not have a centerpiece, seems minor but bothersome after being treated as an afterthought the entireevening. It is apparent that you do not receive the same attention and service if you are not a member. The host stopped atall the tables at least once, sometimes more, to see how they were doing, except our table. Not once did he check in on us. Our drinks were empty and my husband had to ask another waiter for refills. The food was OK, but the service left a badimpression. We definitely will not be returning! Read more
This place was amazing! I showed up 30 minutes early to walk the grounds, which I highly suggest u do too. The history and... elegance of this place is more than what words can say. There is no dress code and the food was delicious. We had a great timeand am looking foward to coming back. They had a variety of things on their menu. They do events, and would be a great venue forparties and weddings. The only downer was the prices, but they were expected. Read more
We were very happy with our dining experience at Box Hill! We pulled up to the mansion which was very scenic. We walked in the... door and were greeted by the host. She was very pleasant and took us to our table. The menu had fantastic selections. Eachperson in our party ordered something different, and we were all very pleased with our meal. Box Hill did a wonderful job for my son and daughter-in-law's rehearsal dinner. It's a beautiful facility and the banquet staff... made sure that everything was perfect. All staff were super friendly and attentive. A great experience. Read more
We went for the valentines dinner, $89 per person. Hey, it's valentines and you only live once why not. We where seated right... away with our reservation. The drinks came slow, guess like everywhere else staffing is an issue. The food served was, OK, notgreat, just ok. The cream of crab was very runny but the steak was nice and tender, cooked the way I ordered it. The waitresswas having an off night I suppose, she messed up a few tables around us. My biggest complaint was the surprise $40 "servicefee". I can see a tip being already added, but a survice fee? For what? Isn't that what I was paying $89 a person for? To beserved food? Not sure if that's a normal addition to their bills but I won't be going back due to that. Read more

Box Hill Mansion for dining is a hidden gem in York. My husband and I enjoy great food and have found that in York, going to... Lancaster and Harrisburg makes it possible. BUT, Box Hill is now our local favorite for outstanding menu selections preparedperfectly, incredible views and ambience and attentive service. This was our 3rd time and it never fails to exceed expectations.We had the crab and corn chowder, that although a tiny bit thick, had a sweet, tasty flavor. The Duck Reuben appetizer was apleasant surprise - truly mastered. The beet/kale salad and the Caesar salad are both great for getting some greens in and theCaesar salad was especially good with the addition of pine nuts and sun dried tomatoes, topped with the crispiest croutons. Forentrees, the Short Ribs were super tender and delicious. The wine selection is nice and the cocktails creative for the season. Take it from 2 foodies, make your reservation for Box Hill. Read more
