The food has been good every time I've gone there for the past 50 years!
I've been to many a hot dog place and I always go to ones that offer their own chili sauce.Three of us went here for lunch. None... of us really cared for the food. Two of us got hot dogs.. I had one with mustard and chili sauce. I assume they mash up beansas a base for their chili sauce. I don't mind beans in chili, but this made the consistency taste like they had gelatin in it orsomething. A glutenous type texture. Had hardly any flavor or salt. The dog was alright, but I've had many better dogs. Thecheeseburger was probably one of the worst I've ever had. I got it with chili sauce also. Bland, over cooked, and served on ahot dog bun. It was absolutely horrible. A friend of mine said pretty much the same thing. I tried the french fries my friendwasn't going to finish.. the fries themselves were bland as well. They had absolutely no salt, but I am not sure even with saltthey'd taste good. I did give the chili sauce a try on it's own and nope.. same reaction as above. No thanks. Read more
We started going to this location 2 years ago as it was closer to our home and not nearly as busy as the Hanover... location. Unfortunately, our visit on 9/22 will be our last visit here as the food quality and service are just not as good asHanover. We ordered one hot dog, a cheesesteak, fries, a rice pudding and several items to go. At the Hanover location, theyuse a steam cabinet to steam the buns and keep them soft. Not sure what York is doing but the hot dog roll was definitely notsoft, like it was sitting out and got a harder texture. My wife said her hot dog didn't taste right. The french fries used tobe great but these were either re-heated or cooked in old oil as they were greasy and limp. Very hot but not crisp. The ricepudding was all but solid, not creamy or pudding-like at all. The rice was also not completely cooked. In all fairness, we hadnever tried their rice pudding so not sure if this was their standard recipe. As for our to-go order, the server forgot to makeit even though there were no other orders being prepared so we had to wait while that was made. It appeared that the person whomay be the manager was there so not sure why the quality is not the same as the Hanover location. Read more
I have been eating hot dogs since I was a child and I have to say this place has got to be the worst place I have ever had a dog... in life! The 3en working we?re arguing amongst each other and the quality of the food was horrible! I bought 59 dollars worth ofhot dogs and fries and my whole family threw the food out. Read more
Chili no flavor. $26 bucks for two people? Go to sheets or rutters. I think the sell two dogs for $3 exact same product. Told... the cashier this is the first and last time I come here. Stealing from people. Read more

With a name like Famous Hot Weiner, it drew me in from the road since weiners, especially hot ones, are hilarious. I've come to... be wary eating strictly based on name, and this experience reinforced it. I cannot fathom what they're famous for. Gettingorders wrong, serving burgers that taste like recycled cat litter, or having the most bland atmosphere imaginable are the onlythings that come to mind. Came in, placed my order, and sat down. Upon getting my food, it was mostly wrong. I took it back,only to be told one of the ingredients I originally ordered they dont have. He apologized, and the right order would be outdirectly. He then came back to confirm my order, which he got wrong not two minutes after I told him the simple order. He musthave been high as hell. My right order finally came out as my dining partner was finishing her lunch, and I was excited to digin. The relish was mostly tasteless goo, and there was barely any mustard. The dogs were overcooked. Ive crapped 4 times inabout 24 hours, and Ive been extremely gassy. They even messed up the fries. How can you mess up fries? Other than the amazingmural portraying their soulless, dead eyed mascot, this trip was a bust. Not good food, not good service, and a mostlydisapointing experience. Read more
I couldn't tell you what they are famous for. Making inedible food? There is so much grease in the chili it's making everything... soggy and gross. The hot dog it's self is very low quality. First and last experience. Read more
