I decided to try a new Italian place on this side of the lake with my young daughter. They had a kiddo menu but she wanted a... different sauce. The server didn't know how to handle that at all. Though it came out just fine, the food was underwhelming -for example, the focaccia was anemic, just white bread with a few bits of onion and rosemary - and the service seemed stressed.There are better options just a few miles away. They were clearly understaffed. Our waitress was very nice but had been forced into double duty as the hostess at the front door... too. We weren't acknowledged at our table for 15 minutes after sitting down, then it took another 15 to get our beverages. Theplace was not busy but from what I could tell there were 2 waitresses total, including ours that was also having to do hostessduties. If there was a manager present, they should have been hosting... Unless they were cooking lol. Again, not blaming thefolks we saw working, for all we know 2 or 3 people called in sick or something. But at the same time, in all honesty, we didnot have a good experience. The food was decent but not great and definitely not worth what we paid. On a positive note, therestaurant atmosphere and ambiance were great. They need some nice comfy chairs for the huge front porch, tons of wasted spaceout there. Read more
Great service and good food. They did not have a gluten free menu, but I let him know about my allergy and he was willing to... take the menu item that I wanted and figure out a way to make it gluten free. Very knowledgeable about sauces and preparationof the menu. Thank you for saving me from gut pain. ???? Read more
The bread before the meal was soft and warm, better than most Italian restaurants. The pizza had a light crust with plenty of... toppings. Leave room for an excellent dessert; we had their specialty: Lisa's buns. Arianna took care of our table with awonderful smile. Read more

Every time we go to Lake Tahoe we have to make a reservation at Capisce. It is a little taste of Italy in South Lake Tahoe!... Their food is delicious, the staff is kind, and the ambiance is amazing! It’s tucked away and definitely a hidden gem. Makesure to make reservations ahead of time. You won’t be disappointed. Read more
Service was a bit slow, they seemed a bit understaffed. I am allergic to mushrooms and requested no mushrooms, but plate came... out with mushrooms making us wait an additional 10-15 minutes to get another plate. Once we received the proper plates, the fooditself was really good and the calamari was cooked nicely. Read more
Amazing food. Nice atmosphere. They were out of a few things we wanted but made do. We had a great family night.
