I used to eat Potesta's as kid growing up at the Vernon Hills location. Always had fond memories. I've bypassed the one in... Waukegan many times due to the poor reviews I had read. Was on the hunt for food before a meeting that was keeping me late atwork and I saw the Potesta's sign on the awning and thought why not? Now I know why not! I ordered an Italian Beef and fries. Was told it would take 15-20 minutes. OK? Cooked to order. Unfortunately not. By the time I drove the mile or so back to myoffice the food was cold. They wrap a pickle in with the beef? I can understand with a burger or hot dog - but with beef? Just changed the whole aromatic experience. The Aus Jus on the side had so much spice floating on top was also off putting. Beef was thick and dry (almost gyro consistency). A good Chicago Beef should be razor thin to absorb the juices. Fries werealso bland, barely salted and soggy. Definitely not cooked to order - which incidentally came to $10.17 without a drink. Couldhave driven a few miles up the road and had the same meal at the World Famous Portillo's for 50 cents more and the quality wouldhave been immensely better. Live and learn I guess. Always like to give family owned business a chance and it seems thereviews for this Potesta's location are hit or miss. My experience was definitely a miss! Read more
Wednesday June 15 2022 7:30pm!!!! Picked up a sausage and mushroom pizza. Got it home took a bite out of the 2nd piece and low... and behold there is 2 twings in my mouth that were in my pizza. Unique way of doing a calzone. Good flavor profile and nice crust. Not how I would make it but well worth the money. And ... it’s food made well. Would definitely recommend this place!! Read more

Giving this review is breaking my heart…. I’ve lived potestas for a long time but these past few months order accuracy and... food quality have really gone downhill PLEASE take ribs off the menu altogether if this is how you serve them…they have thetaste and consistency of being microwaved…. Tough, dry and tasted like rubber….the fries were soggy and half raw…and yourCole slaw is rancid please throw what you have left away before you get someone sick…. Read more
