First time I was able to come and eat here and it was great. I'll admit, when they seated us right by the main entrance, I was a... little concerned about being cold and the draft being a nuisance, but the heaters work great and I was not bothered at all. If I could rate this 0 stars, I would. I dined it at Browns and had ordered a vegetarian quesadilla with garlic Parmesan fries... on side. Almost halfway through eating the fries, I find something odd. I smell it and it doesn’t smell anything like fries soI call over our very kind server. She informed me it was calamari. I immediately pushed my plate aside. I’ve been vegetarianmy entire life and there was a piece of calamari mixed in with fries, how is this possible? Does browns not follow safe foodsafe protocols, how on earth does that happen? To add to the negative experience, our server told us she had informed themanager. The manager did NOT come to our table and apologize for this. What kind of management is running this restaurant?Isn’t it their job to apologize to customers when something like this happens? This spot was very lively when we were there just before dinner on a Saturday but we were still seated very quickly. All the... servers were very nice, accommodating, and attentive. Their menu is very eclectic, with something for everyone (except kids,don't know if they have a kids menu but its not really a place for kids) and even a delicious looking brunch menu. My tableordered two different bowls, and two different burgers and everything was good. They have an extensive drink menu, and of coursea rotating tap. Everything looked clean, and the guests around us were pleasant. Their menu seemed quite expensive to me at thetime but the portions were a decent size. Went out for a casual dinner. Have only been to Browns in NewWestminster for lunch once before. Was definitely not... disappointed! Great atmosphere, very friendly hostess who greeted us warmly and sat us promptly. Our server - Austin - wasengaging and attentive. Our drinks and appy order were brought promptly. Food was well prepared and delicious. MUST highlyrecommend the "carrot cake" for dessert. Perfect balance of savory spices and just enough sweetness to be the perfect end to ameal. We'll be back!! Amazed at the happy hour menu as it seems SHRINKFLATION is a thing. Ordered the cauliflower bites and the spicy crispy chicken... and pickles. 5 pieces of cauliflower and the chicken was so small they were dry and so salty. Guessing it was an off day?
