I was in a group of 9. Everyone rcvd their meal but me. The waitress did not let me know where my meal was for a good 5 to 10... min. It took 15 min for my lunch to come out after everyone else. I ordered in the middle of the group. Well the food was verygood and hot when it came out. Read more
Pretty nice restaurant. I would give this restaurant 5 stars if it wasn't for a few details. But the food is very good with... flavor of the Rueben I've never tasted before. The restaurant was clean enough and the decor was nice for a cosy feeling.Service from my waitress (Mackenna) was friendly and inviting. The restaurant even had brand new menus. All this and more makethis a great restaurant. We were passing through on our way home to Des Moines and came across Jones County Local on Google. So glad we decided to stop!!... We Loved everything about this place! The atmosphere was great, our waitress was so nice and prompt and the food was amazing!The restaurant and bathrooms were so clean! You can tell they take pride in cleanliness and we absolutely love that!! The onlydown side is I wish they were closer because I would love a place like this to be my go to place at home. Friendly attentive staff. Good value. Everyone enjoyed their meals for the most part. Ribeye steaks all well seasoned. Only... issue was 3 steaks were all medium rare instead of medium and burger too red for medium well. Generally not crazy about brusselsprouts and wanted to subout but just ended up with extra sides Ceasar salads were delicious healthy portions. Cheese friesappetizers baked and perfect for sharing. This restaurant is off the beaten path from Hwy 151, nestled in rural Anamosa. There is plenty of parking with more to be... developed later. Decor is rustic country with lots of sitting. As we first walked it, the noise level was very loud. You had ahard time hearing the person you were there with. They were under staffed but our waitress did a great job with herservice. We ordered an appetizer of boneless chicken wings with sweet chili. The wings were good and fresh and hot when theywere brought to the table. I would have liked a small side dish of sweet chili sauce for dipping. My husband ordered theMaster Craftsman and I ordered the Worker's Union. The Craftsman had fried pickle straws and peanut butter with option ofadding a fried egg. He loves the part when first bite into the sandwich and egg comes oozing out. He thought there was just alittle too much peanut butter so you couldn't taste the rest of the burger. The Union burger was blackened with bleu cheese andbacon. The burger was good with you could taste the tang of the bleu cheese. Both burgers came with a choice of hand cut fries,chips, Cole slaw or cottage cheese. We both got the fries which were not fresh when they were brought to the table. You couldtell they had been sitting under a warmer for a while. All in all it was good and you didn't leave hungry.
