Chef Goff knocks it out of the park. The roots shine through while being updated and providing some great improvements, like... table service and local food at low prices. Is it McDonald's cheap? No, of course not. But it's retains its status as one of thecheapest diners in town, it has excellent diner food and drinks that source locally when possible and are crafted in amazingways (Get that hot chicken sandwich. Do it. Don't wait.), and it charges what it needs to in order to source that food AND takecare of its people. The spirit of Tastee lives on while embracing change that's been a long time coming. Here's to another 80years thanks to the improvements that have been made! Read more

New ownership. Chef puts so much flavor in everything! Delicious homemade ranch for the creative style wings. Hot chicken... sandwich has all kinds of sauce on it. So delicious no matter what you get. And not too pricey either can get away at about12-13 bucks for lunch. 10/10 best place on Haywood. Read more

Been 3 times since the reboot trying something new each time. Love the menu, vibe, and service. Almost everything is a decadent... variation of what you'd expect. If I wanted to eat here once a season, it would be a treat to look forward to. But as someonewho wishes they could eat here every week, it would be overkill. With love and respect, please dial back the seasonings just asmidge... Nevertheless, we're excited for the breakfast and dinner menus! Read more

Excellent smoked chicken wings. And the Rabbit gumbo was more like a heart stew. Reminded me Brunswick Stew?just not as... sweet?.. if you are familiar with the food of the Low Country. Highly recommend. Read more

It's not the same, it's better. People don't like change, I get it. Change is necessary for growth, and Tastee Diner has heard... this call. I had a 4 star review that I took down for the old restaurant, because after tasting Chef Steve's creations, I feelit deserves all of the 5 stars. I had the crispy butter poached mushroom sando (delectable oyster mushroom mix, with the mostdreamy aioli), and chose the pasilla tater salad (think curry, sweet and tasty), & slaw (tangy, cilantro-zip), for my sides. Myhusband ordered the Aux burger, which really impressed him, he said loved the sauce. I tried it, and it was a true work of art;medium-rare cooked meat that will melt in your mouth. The Aux burger tastes like a 5 star Asheville burger. His side was thecrinkle cut fries. It had this addictive seasoning, which he couldn't stop eating them. I am posting the menu, the building, our food and Chef Steve who came out to check to make sure everything was good. We loved everything. Thanks so much! Read more

I tell you what, this place was great! I really enjoyed my meal here. I stopped in for breakfast and had a wonderful meal.... Please stop by and help out a small business that seems to be a stable staple of West Asheville! Wish I lived closer and couldgo more but I will be back whenever I visit from Charlotte.
