OMG - the broiled Grouper today was awesomely fresh, touched lightly by the heat, and complete perfection!
I bought some shrimp, the colossal crab claws and a garden salad. The seafood was amazing but the garden salad was bad, the... cucumbers slices, the red pepper and hard boiled egg were slimy. I will continue to buy my uncooked seafood here but notprepared food. I returned the salad and they tried to replace it with another bad salad so I just got my money back. Honestly, Iam disappointed by the salad but the uncooked seafood is fresh and of good quality. Read more
This place is amazing. The staff was super friendly and courteous. It was busy, but seemed orderly and under control. I had... a tuna steak that was perfectly done, with great spices, and delicious sides. Very reasonable prices. Avalon seafood is a mustfor any fish or seafood lover!! I had a 100.00 order to go tonight and the food was cold and the clam chowder tasted old. I called to make the owner aware that... the chowder was bad. I didn't want a refund because I paid in cash so I wanted the 8.95 to go the the staff in the tip jar. Hestarted yelling at this young lady that he was not giving me the refund, then he wanted to give me 6.95 back. I spoke to him andI told him he should not be so disrespectful to his staff and to his customers when I could hear him on the phone. His excusewas he was busy. I will not return. Read more
I?m not impressed by this place nor by their service. Staff seems inexperienced and relatively rude (in one particular... instance). For both of these reasons, I give a one star. I will say, on the other hand, if you are looking for fish on theisland, Oceanside has been great and offers good recommendations. They have a nice selection of fish and their take out is welldone. Kyle helped create a terrific a la carte menu for us at Stock the House. The food was fresh, hot and so delicious. Our client... was completely satisfied and so were we! All employees there are exceptionally friendly and thorough with all the details. I gothere all the time for my personal seafood needs as well. Their jumbo shrimp are terrific. You?re better off buying fresh fish - excellent tuna - rather than getting take out. I ordered broiled flounder and it was dry,... not blackened and underwhelming. We had a better experience grilling tuna which was delicious and very fresh. Read more
Walked in and was immediately haranged and harassed by the gentleman behind the counter. The whole experience was terrible and... the shrimp I finally bought were tough. I think he thought he was being funny. When I asked for prices, he said nobody inAvalon cares about prices they're all rich. I did not have a cooler with me and I needed to know the smallest amount that Icould purchase and how much it cost. He was loud and rude and whoever owns the place should not have him working behind thecounter. Read more
