It's obvious to me that the emphasis is all about saving money. I've been coming here for almost 20 years and have also... frequented the Lincolnshire and Hinsdale locations. I have to say, I was immensley disappointed with my last visit to theBarrington location this week. It was a business meeting and I order a fresh fruit cup and english muffin. I received oneorange slice, 8 blueberries, 3 tiny red grapes, two 1 inch square pieces of cantalope and 1 two inch long x 1/2 inch honeydewmelon and two 1/4 slices of strawberries. The preserves were only enough to hardly cover 1/2 of 1/2 muffin and I am alwayssparing. No one offered to refill my ice tea or my colleages coffee. Actually , the server never acknowledge at me at anytime. We were there 40 minutes and she came back 3 times to remove our plates when we clearly were not done (with our hugeportions). Although in fairness she probably thought we were done at the beginning of the service since there was hardleyanything on our plates. There were other tables available. I hope the new manager/owner is pleased with themselves about howmuch money they are saving by serving a ridiculously small amount of food. I will be so happy to accomodate that person by notcoming back and having them have to serve food. They can save it in the kitchen. Read more
walked in for breakfast 8/11/22 around 8:30a. About 15 people in restaurant total. Waited and waited after being seated for a... server. Had to go to front desk to ask someone be sent to table. Just unacceptable service. BTW , they need to clean the coffeepots better. Filthy. Read more
This is one of my favorite breakfast places. On my most recent visit, I ordered the ultimate skillet and one of their current... specials, lemon ricotta french toast. The skillet was delicious and the English muffin and house made jam that it comes withequally scrumptious. Truly, I wish I could have that muffin and jam every morning. The french toast was pretty good but I kindathought it would be better than it was. Service is great and I recommend you join the online wait-list before you reach therestaurant because there is ALWAYS a wait since it is a well loved place. After many years of driving past when they were closed after 2 PM, we decided to wake up early and try it out. Both of our... breakfasts were packed with so much flavor. I got the Barrington Eggs Benedict and my partner got the Aztec Omelette. Wedevoured our food in a matter of minutes. Nothing else was needed to add to the dish, it was delicious as is. Their famousstrawberry orange juice was also delectable as it had pieces of strawberries mixed in. The service was great and fast. We are soglad that we decided to finally go! Read more
Our party of 6 was seated immediately upon arrival on Thursday morning around 10:45AM. They have both indoor and outdoor... options, but with the summer heat creeping into the morning, we opted to sit indoors w the AC. We were given water but one ofthe cups had clear lipstick marks on the rim and another smelled vaguely of milk ? so we weren?t super stoked about theircleanliness. However, the service was great and food came out quickly (less than 10 minutes!). I got the Joe?s Healthy Scramblerand it was a good size portion with a GREAT cheese pull from the mozzarella. My friend who showed us Egg Harbor (he?s a borneand raised Barrington native), said that the potatoes used to be better. Overall, a nice and quaint breakfast place but nothingto call home about. A m a z i n g! Park in back. Huge parking lot. Free parking. Enter and choose to dine in, order out or take out, it order a... coffee. We ate in. Quick seating, quick service, food preparation was quick. Full meal in 30 minutes. The food is great. Weordered the grits. You should order them too! And the decor is chickens. So cute and cozy. This place is great! Our waitress was helpful and friendly. It?s a great place for gluten free and I noticed a lot of the... ingredients are local and organic. They have a huge menu. I opted for an omelette with goat cheese, spinach, and avocado. I alsogot a gluten free cinnamon roll and an iced latte with lavender. The omelette was delicious! It was $10 and it comes with a sideof potatoes and an English muffin. The latte was so smooth and had a good lavender flavor. The gf cinnamon roll was veryflavorful and not dry at all, I was impressed. I have no idea what that seasoning blend on the table was, but I smothered mypotatoes with it and I contemplated licking the plate when they were gone. The staff was very nice and our food was great. We originally dined in, but after we ordered my daughter was not feeling well.... They quickly and without hassle put all of our order in to go boxes. I would definitely go back! Read more
