Beware of bait and switch! Yesterday I went in to the Galveston store and said I want to order four Cakes in a Jar. I told the... person the flavors for each. She asked if I wanted large or small. I said whatever comes in the Mason jar. She told me bothsizes do. So I ordered smalls and was charged $24. When I went to pick them up today I received four cakes in a plasticcontainer that looks like something from McDonalds! I explained to the guy I asked for the cakes in a Mason Jar. He said ifyou want a mason jar you need to go to the other store. These were to be gifts! So disadisappointed in this place. Read more
We went to Ida's for cupcakes because we were given some gift certificate for cupcakes. When you order you can mix and match... your cupcakes and your frosting and they prepare them right then. We tried a variety of flavors, chocolate with chocolatefrosting, yellow cake with vanilla frosting, red velvet with cream cheese frosting, carrot cake with cream cheese frosting, andpeanut butter with peanut butter frosting. They were all amazing and I can't even pick a favorite (though the red velvet andthe peanut butter were probably at the top). Ida's Cupcakes was the PERFECT choice for our wedding! Autumn was amazing to work with from the tasting to the big day. Their... cakes are stunning! We had a two-tier cake as well as 5 dozen cupcakes and let me just say, WOW! Beautiful and so delicious! We used Ida?s for our wedding and could not be happier with the selection! We chose a small tier cake & about 300 cupcakes for... our guest. We did a cake testing a couple months prior and were able to pick so many different combinations of cake & frostingflavors it was hard to decide. This is hands down my favorite cupcake place. As I used to live in Bend, this was a place I discovered after my boss was getting... married and was catering in cupcakes from this place instead of a traditional wedding cake. I was the taste tester. I canfaithfully say that I was hooked the minute I tried the buttercream frosting on the red velvet cupcake (pictured).???????? Myabsolute favorite. For those that are Chocolate fans, grab the chocolate bottom and buttercream top (pictured). I?ve triedtheir vanilla bottom and lemon top along with the carrot cake and buttercream and still amazing. I do recommend getting the?kid cakes? aka regular sized cupcakes over the ?gourmet? ones as they are easier to eat and make more sense for traveling. Thegourmet cakes I think are good for those wanting more base and less frosting or for special events that you want them to standout a bit more. They build the cupcakes to order, so you can choose any flavor combination of cupcake and frosting, and they have the option to... add sprinkles. They offer gluten free and vegan, I believe those are just the chocolate and vanilla. They also offer minisucculent cupcakes, but they require you to order them ahead of time as they can be slightly time consuming to make. Read more
