We love this place! After moving away from TX I was very excited to find a Chuy's near my brother's home! We eat here everytime... I come to town. I love their chuychanga (chicken chimichanga, so good)! I don't like rice and beans and they sub it for a saladthat is always perfect, very fresh, and their jalapeño ranch sauce as a dressing... yum! It's the perfect, yet odd, complimentto their thin warm chips ???? The patio seating is fabulous and has an amazing view. Part of their outside seating is coveredwith fans and part is open air with umbrellas - all of the outside seating is dog friendly. They bring your pup a bowl of icewater and lots of attention. Steak burrito smothered in hatch chili gravy and chicken fajitas with all the trimmings. OMG! I can honestly say that I have... never had such tasty Mexican food in the coolest atmosphere ever! Everything was extremely fresh. The pico, guac, serranopeppers, everything!! Amazing flavors like I?ve never experienced in any Mexican restaurant. Our waitress, Kelly, waswonderful! She said that everything is made from scratch every day. They don?t even have a freezer in their kitchen. Oh and thechips. Best ever. Thin, light and super crispy! Even the sour cream was different. Chuys is always a solid bet!! I'm from Texas so to find one in Birmingham was awesome. The food and the service is top notch.... Excellent good and service. No waiting to be seated. Good came out very hot and drinks were consistently filled. Our waitress... kept our table with plenty of napkins, wasn't overbearing but right on time with anything we needed. For west coast visitors: This place doesn't disappoint. I stopped in for lunch and after being served with chips and pico, I... could tell from the first dip this place isn't like the rest around here. The pico spice level was higher then I've seen mostanywhere and it was just right but for the average person it is probably too hot but this is a Mexican restaurant, it's notsupposed to cater to your tastes, you're supposed to conform to the food or why are you here? So from the start, I wasimpressed. Then I ordered the nachos and the steak burrito and the nachos aren't the traditional nachos, they're more like a cutup "Mexican pizza" into quarters which is just as well. The steak in the burrito was very high quality, definitely tasted good.Thumbs up for sure, I'll be visiting this place again as it's the first Mexican restaurant in the Birmingham area that hasn'tdisappointed. I ?? me some Chuy?s?. All day every day. I?m serious. As far as chain restaurants, only second to Papasitos. Unfortunately... the second place is because of the service. I?m new to Bham. Haven?t been here permanently but about 9 months and I?ve beenhere a few times but the service isn?t as good as the food and the service sells any dine in restaraunt in my opinion. Soooo, Ithought take out would be good and I went to pick up for the entire office. Well, let me just say, the curbside pick up was anexact replica of dining in. Had an appointment to pick up, during my lunch hour, and it took Alma the entire hour to go pick upand get back. ???? wasn?t mad but a little frustrated. We came on a busy night so we ended up sitting at the bar. Food was okay. Service was fine. That?s why I am giving an extra... star. Bathroom was disgusting. Blood on stall door and floor. Sorry no picture of that. This picture is from the women?sbathroom. I pray that isn?t black mold. Either way it?s nasty. I let Chuy?s know weeks ago but they never responded.
