This is one of my favorite restaurants in Boise. The food is amazing and the place has a really mellow atmosphere. Last time we... went we got the Silent majority shrimp, Pete’s lamb chops, re-elect ravioli, crème brûlée, and the sorbet. The whole mealwas amazing but the shrimp was an absolute stand out. I don’t normally go out of my way to recommend a dish but the silentmajority shrimp was amazing! Read more

Not even sure how to adequately convey our displeasure. Service was slow and inattentive. Everything lacked flavor via... herbs/seasoning. 2/3 entrees were served cold and the other over cooked. Best I can say is the fries were solid and a decentmojito. I couldnt reccomend to somebody I disliked. Read more

Man I really wanted to love this place, the atmosphere is so amazing! Unfortunately the experience wasn't great. We decided to... take my parents here for a "special" night out. I was excited because I have heard great things. I have to say when you walkdown the stairs into the "cellar like" atmosphere, I was blown away...the history of the building speaks for itself. The staffwas friendly, and the wine selection was IMMENSE! So where did they fall short...THE FOOD. There were 4 of us dining, and we allchose to order separate things on the menu. There was something wrong with every order. The chicken was bone dry, one of myeating companions literally couldn't chew through their steak. We even sent it back, and the second one was just as bad! I hateleaving bad reviews, but I have to speak the truth! I think you should go here for happy hour, and get some great vino withyour friends. I would definitely come back and do that, unfortunately I don't think I would eat here again. Read more

Tried tonight for the first time and they did not disappoint! Everything was well prepared and delicious. Try the halloumi... fries, a way more decadent option than the stand by mozzarella sticks normally found on appetizer menus. The French onion soupwas great, my fave type of soup that I always try when I see it on a restaurant menu. New York strip steak was juicy, flavorfuland perfectly cooked. Husband had the Post pork which was very good as well. The creme brulee was a great treat to wrap up themeal. All the staff were very friendly and helpful with their recommendations. Will definitely be back. Read more

While we have had fantastic meals at Capitol Cellars, I wanted to bring to your attention first before posting a public review... the quality of Christmas Dinner. We ordered dinner for 4 and picked up the meal at 3pm Christmas Eve. I was very excited to havethis meal as the prime rib I’ve had before at Capitol Cellars was delicious. This was not the case this time, as the Prime Ribslices were full of gristle and the flavor was off. The potatoes were not cooked all the way, completely raw on the bottom and Ihad to add cheese to it for more flavor. The winter vegetables were flavorless and the yellow sauce on it was butter???? Notsure, flavorless. The salad had a lot of brown pieces in it and there was a hair in with the rolls. The soup was delicious, aswas the cheesecake. For spending $236 + $50 dollar cash tip for the staff, this was disappointing and almost inedible. Justfigured someone might want to know as I see your doing the same thing for a NYE package which we will not be ordering. Photosfor your review. ***I sent this exact email to Management GM??? giving 7 days to respond and did not hear a word back. Nothing.Almost $300 and we basically had 1 cup of soup/person and 1 piece of cheesecake/person for out Christmas Dinner, the rest wasinedible. Read more

The food is mediocre. $24 for a sea bass, some bland rice and 8 green beans. My waitress was ok. I order a soup and salad for... me, I said I will have a soup and salad, and she took off and didn't take my wife's appetizer order. When she came back I had tosay that was just for me, my wife needs to order. She left and brought out our salad and didn't ask what we had wanted to orderfor our main course. When she brought our soup that's when I said can we order our main course. The soup, French onion, wasvery watered down. I've had some very nice French onion soup and this was not very good at all. We won't be going back Read more
