Was everything that I had hoped for. Arrived at 2:45 on a Saturday and was able to get a reservation for 5 pm . Restaurant has... 6 tables for dates (2 person tables) and four tables for larger parties. We were graced by having the table right in front ofthe oven and front row to the chefs. We ordered a pepperoni pizza and a large calzone. Both were excellent. Speaking with theothers in my party, each seemed to enjoy different aspects of the pizza. Some loved the sauce, others enjoyed the thin, crispycrust. The calzone was made with same ingredients as the pizza with the addition of a soft cheese—looked like ricotta cheese. Regardless, all seemed to agree that Lucali seems to have mastered all aspects of pizza making. Perhaps the best was the freshingredients— the fresh basil was the perfect finishing touch. The meal paired well with our own wine-remember, it’sBYOB. Definitely, recommend this experience. Read more

The best pizza. Ever. I know you’re probably contemplating going here due to the infamous wait.. But, you should. Do it.... Don’t forget it is CASH ONLY + Also BYOB (bring any drink you want!) It’s best to arrive at around 3/3:30PM to reserve yourtable for Dinner. If you pick outdoor seating it’ll usually be faster seating times. Read more

Excellent pizza and quite well priced considering the hype. BYOB too which is nice. Be warned that you will not be able to walk... up and get a table - we had a single person queueing from about 3pm to book our table, and even then we were limited to a fairlyawkward time. Still worth it though. Read more

The best pizza in the world! Come early around 3:30 PM to get your name down for a table. We arrived at 4:30 PM and luckily... snagged an 11:00 PM table, the last of the night. The pizza is spectacular!! The crust is perfectly crunchy with just a slightamount of burnt bits on the bottom. The sauce was well seasoned and the amount of cheese they use is perfect! Also, they usebasil correctly and place it on fresh after the pizza is baked so the basil doesn't burn. The only other place you'll find pizzathis good is Italy! I'd eat here every day if it was easy to get! Read more

God-tier pizza. Even better calzone. Do yourself a favor and try the calzone if you go here. We got here around 3:15pm and the... line was around the corner. It doubled in size by 4pm when they started taking names (walk-up reservations essentially). Irecommend definitely getting here before 3:40 to put your name down. Our table of 6 got a slot for 7:15pm. They say thisBrooklyn pizza shop is the best in NYC and I agree. The owner Is also a super friendly guy. Cash-only and BYOB are honestly aplus (bring any drink you want). Read more

The pizzas were amazing, were worth the wait, and live up to the reputation. We got there 2 hours before opening to get seated... early. The servers were super efficient and set the pace perfectly. They brought out each item quickly, a min after we finishedthe first pizza the second one was fresh out of the oven sitting on our table. Read more

Was in New York for a few days, so I decided to eat at a number of pizzerie to see which was the best. Lucali was, by far, the... best. In fact, it’s the best pizza I’ve eaten in America. It’s difficult to get a spot since they don’t doreservations, and you have to show up before opening to get a spot, sometimes hours later in the evening. I had to wait twohours for take-out, but it was worth the wait. The pizza was light, the dough had some good flavor development (not nearly asmuch as Italian pizza, but good), and the cheese was tasty. What put it over the top for me was the basil. It’s added afreshness that I’d never experienced before since Italian pizza always utilizes basil cooked with the pizza. Really enjoyedthe pizza immensely. Read more

Had to come to experience what some say is the best pizza in NYC. Arrived at 430p, short line. Managed to get one of the last... reservations later that night at 10pm. Arrived around 950p to check in. Was seated around 1015p or so since the last party wasdragging their feet a bit. Remember to BYOB. The server told us there were no meat toppings on Fridays cause of Lent so FYI. Wegot a pie with shallots and mushrooms. The pizza is more traditional brick oven. Reminded us of pizzas in Italy. The crust ischewy and the ends are cracker crisp. Plenty of cheese and we’re cheese enthusiasts. I did think the pie was lacking somesalt, but we usually get pepperoni and that brings the salt. Overall a very good pizza. It’s right up there but the bestI’ve ever had? I can’t determine that till I get to come back and have a proper pie with pepperoni. Read more
