SAO offers excellent Italian fair and features great service. We visited on a Monday and it was busy. The outside seating area... is comfortable and well laid out. Our server was professional and welcoming. I always have chicken parm at new Italianrestaurants and theirs is a solid offering. Our gnocchi and meatball appetizers we also on point. We really wanted to like this place. It was highly recommended. But after finding two hairs in two different dishes, food that... wasn't impressive, and the bread pudding tasting stale, I just can't recommend this place to anyone. If you're in Burlingame andwant good Italian food look elsewhere. If this place was half the price it would be 5 stars. But at this price point, I'd expectbetter. Read more
We sat outside and the service was excellent. We shared the meatballs and burrata for appetizers which were both great. Only... issue was that the lasagna was a little cold when it was served. Had dinner reservations for 5:30pm on a Friday night. I suggest making reservations — I did on a Wednesday and 5:30pm was all... I could find (or 9:30pm). Excellent. Lovely inside and outside. Excellent pasta and veggies. The restaurant gets a nice crowd and the service is good.... Loved the gnocchi -we had it with the pesto sauce, the Alfredo sauce, and the walnut Gorgonzola sauce. Loved the Brusselssprouts, the mushrooms, and the spinach. Read more
Service was great. Food was ok but ridiculously overpriced and very small portions
Hit and miss. Sometimes really good, other times feels like everything is smothered in butter - which in the case of their... signature gnocchi is by design. Chicken Parm just like your mom used to make. Just went again for Valentine's day. I'd stickwith four stars. Everything was good but not amazing. We enjoyed the filet and it was cooked correctly.
