This was an excellent experience, we had so much fun with the staff and the people at our table. The food was perfectly cooked.... The only reason out gets 4 stars is because we ordered the Japanese wagu beef, priced at nearly $200 for one plate. The steakwas maybe 4 oz. Husband and I shared it. It was underwhelming for sure. The atmosphere of the restaurant is really nice and the staff are super welcoming and friendly. Our chef , Tom was very... entertaining when preparing everyone’s meal in front of us. Overall it was a great experience and that is what your paying forwith that price tag. The sushi was amazing and super flavourful, as well as the wagyu gyoza (halal). Overall, would definitelyrecommend coming here for a special occasion (everyone at our table came for a birthday or anniversary)! Read more
Emmm… was holding high expectations before walk in. But actually is really not that match the price you paid. Mostly the cost... goes to watch the chef performance and the atmosphere. Food is only fast food quality but with such a high price tag. We orderedbeef and chicken with fried rice. Its okay but not very surprising. It was very entertaining. The best way to celebrate a birthday in Calgary. I love the artistry of the chefs and they were... engaging. The wagyu and Alberta steak were tender and simply the best. Overall, this restaurant does a great job at providing a fun experience. The decor and ambiance is well done and seems like it... would perhaps be similar to ones found in Japan. The food was fresh, but to me, was not worth the money you pay for it. Forexample, we ordered a California role for $9, and there were probably 8 very small pieces, but for usually double the priceelsewhere, you typically get double the portion - makes sense, I guess. The miso soup was just warm and seemed like it was notmade from scratch (perhaps a pre-made, prepacked brand). For the grilled food, if you prefer to eat your food all at once, justhow I do, you likely will NOT enjoy this type of dinning experience. Each dish is cook one by one while the cook tries his/herbest to entertain everyone at the same time. Because of this, by the time the next dish is cooked and added to your plate, theprevious dish would have been just warm. If you decide to wait for the cook to finish cooking all of your dishes, you willlikely have to wait at least an additional 30 minutes for your full plate. For me, I did not like that especially because Ilike to eat my entire meal pipping hot and at the same time. I would still recommend this restaurant for those who would like afun night out with friends or family. I feel though, that most Asians like myself, would prefer to pay higher prices (as theirsare) for higher qualify and more flavorful Asian dishes. I just couldn't help but think that I, personally, could easily cookfood like this at home. Based on my experience, I would probably would only come back if I were invited out to a gathering hereby my friend/family. Oh, and their tip function defaults to 20%, 25%, and 30%, I believe. 30%!! AMAZING! We went here to celebrate my husband’s birthday and couldn’t be happier! This is THE experience! We were so lucky... to have Kenny as our chef and Melanie as our server and they went ABOVE and BEYOND! honestly the food here is exceptional but ihave to say that the customer service was OUTSTANDING! I don’t remember the last time we were treated so well in a restaurantin Calgary! Keep it up OMO Team, and again special thanks to Kenny and Melanie for making out night so fun! Read more
The food was great and the place is nice a spacious. If you like some entertainment while dining out, this is the place to come.... It’s a little pricy but you gotta pay the extra money for the extra entertainment. The portion size of their sushi is smallerthan what I was expecting. The same with the portion size of the tempura, they’re just small! The service was nice and promptbut maybe a little too prompt as I felt a little rushed. We were all still eating appies and they started our dinner right away.In the middle of eating our dinner they started taking dessert orders (ice cream that comes with the teppanyaki meals) which Ifound a little aggressive. I get that they’re trying to flip for another table but sheesh give me time to eat. With thosedetails in mind, I’d still give this place a 4 out of 5 stars. Read more
Fantastic night with Japanese style! Location near NB Macload trail, which is near Chinook. Great show by the cook and food are... fine. The atmosphere was great and all staff were passionated. Recommend to a big group to reserve a table. Read more
