Sarris Candies is a local candy and chocolate business that was founded about 60 years ago. This specific store has a candy shop... that sells probably hundreds of products and an old-fashioned ice cream parlor that sells dozens of flavors of ice creams. Thedecorations look really fun. During my recent visit, I bought a box of assorted milk chocolates, a root beer float, and a bananasplit sundae, all of which tasted very good. The two employees who served me did a fine job. Anyone from the area knows that the chocolate here is delicious. The ice cream parlor is a special treat. If you're in the area.... Definitely make sure you get the chocolate dip. Pittsburgh and Canonsburg in particular are so lucky to have a place like Sarris candies. From the young ladies that work here... to the people that run the factory, everybody is pleasant, the place is clean as a pin, the candy selection is unrivaled, Ibelieve almost anywhere and the ice cream is off the chart. A ton of flavors generous scoops, great sundaes, yeah this is great.If you?re ordering a sundae bring your appetite. When you walk into Sarris Candies, you take a slight step back in time with their old fashions soda shoppe vibe. Sarris Candies... is not just a store selling their product. The building consists of a retail store, an ice cream parlour, and a factory?all ofwhich is housed in a building the size of a football field. I was amazed at the bins and bins of chocolate treats and shelves ofbeautifully packaged products available for sell. But, what was most impressive was the beautiful decor, which was a treat forall ages. Starting in Frank Sarris? basement, this company has grown into a multimillion dollar company since its inception in1960. On the Sarris website, you can read about the company?s ?sweet? start as a result of Frank?s self-made candy gifts for whowould later become his wife. If you happen to find yourself traveling on I-79 just south of Pittsburgh and have some extratime, take a short detour at the Cannonsburg exit to check out the sweet treats for yourself. Read more
the service at the ice cream bar really frustrating. the ice cream is very hyped up. the only thing that saves it from two stars... was that it was very unique and has a lot of visually appealing attractions. there are a lot of cool and unique candies. it ispretty pricey though. Read more
Coming here for ice cream has been tradition for us since my kids were little. Every year this is the place my kids want to come... to when we visit the grandparents. The one scoop with hard cap is our favorite and it is huge. They also have a great candy shopwhere you can anything you might like for your sweet tooth.
