This was by far the worst service I've ever experienced at what used to be a favorite restaurant. The server was rude and openly... inattentive. At one point, after the table next to us was being treated to the friendliest service and utmost care, a glass oftea was virtually dropped by my arm as the server hustled by without saying a word. Next, my partner requested a pot of coffee.The server returned with a single cup and made a huge display of pouring it without offering to bring a second. This continuedthroughout the entire meal. Needless to say, the lack of a tip was to be expected. If you're working in a service industry, atleast be good at what you're supposed to be doing and expecting a gratuity for. I had low expectations the moment I walked in. We were seated at a booth fairly quickly on a Tuesday morning. My seat had a... large tear in it that had been taped over. The window beside our booth had what looked suspiciously like a bullet hole in it (nojoke, other reviews have mentioned it, too). The restaurant could use some cleaning up. The sandwich was very good, but the onion rings were not so tasty.
Went there late last evening. Food was good. The waitress was excellent. However they close at 11:00. We got there at 10 and... others came in later. Around 10:30 a few of the staff began looking at there watches and staring at the people eating. Theyactually tried to encourage people to eat faster. That really bothered me. I've been to this IHOP several times, so thankfully I know what to expect. And that is... a long wait! Now, I'm a patient person... so it doesn't bother me that much, especially since I only saw one waitress working. But when I'm with other people... they suredo complain about it. I tried out the new Lemon Blueberry Ricotta Crepes, and WOW! They were really delicious! My partner andmy mom both got a Breakfast Combo of some sort and everything came out fine for them. Their only complaint was, of course, thewait. I'd say we waited at least 30 - 40 minutes for out food. But look, if you're not in a rush, this is a good place to go inKanawha City. This IHOP has to be the worst! The Hostess was the first to give me a bad impression. She seated us at clearly wet table and... said she would come back to wipe it off. The Waiter Wayne then told us we could move to another table that was near the exit .Later finding out is the door employees go to smoke as they kept passing my table along with my waiter. The Drink fountain isalso a hang out for employees, that don?t care how loud they cuss with my kid sitting there. Soon as my order was put in Waynereturned with my bill before I got my food .The one time he returned to my table after I got my food. I asked for Napkins and hereached over my food to put the napkins down to the back, of a booth table .. . My glass sat empty and I never received myrefill. I tipped him well even though the service was very bad, because hopefully he was only having a bad day! This restaurantclearly doesn?t have good Management. Great place to get some breakfast. Food was hot fresh and good. Staff was friendly fast service. The French toast with... strawberry and bananas is a great start to any day. Overall a really good meal and I would definitely come back. Read more
