We went here for Lunch, it is now Monahans Clams. I got whole belly clams dinner for $21.99. Which is a good price , there were... plenty of clams ,tasted very good Cole slaw was very good , would have liked a little more slaw and the French Frys areperfect. We thought we were stopping at our favorite place "The hitching post" We have been going there since I was a child. We ordered... and ate. We noticed the fritters were not the same. They were dense and dark. At the time we thought the cook may have been new!When we were leaving we noticed a sign that read Monahan's Clam Shack. We left disappointed and sad. Big fan of the fritters, clams, and fries here. The lobster roll is OK as is the grilled cheese. Anything fried and you will... have a good time, and the outdoor eating area is a fun place to hang out in the shade on a hot day! Read more
The clam strips were raw dough in the middle. We ordered three seafood items and received one tartar sauce, they had to scramble... to find more when we asked. The fries were soggy, no ketchup. One of us ordered a lobster roll and it was soggy and flavorlesslisted on the board at twenty dollars, rang up at twenty three. I liked the fritters. Eighty six dollars for lunch and it wasgross. I found the clam fritters a bit too doughy for my liking. The bathrooms are very nice and clean. The garden area is a nice... feature for a picnic atmosphere. Read more
It wasn't very good. Chowder was bland and clam cakes were heavy with oil. We went on a Monday and thought the chowder must... have been the weekend leftovers ... The potatoes were mushy and the red broth had turned burnt orange from age. My husband gota full belly clam roll and it was skimpy. The best part of the experience was the ala carte french fries. $40 + spent on aless than memorable lunch. Read more
