It wasn't bad food (the meat sauce is kind of bland). I could've cooked at home for cheaper and it would've tasted similar.... Overall, sweet ladies, ok food, but not worth the $50 bill for 3 of us. Just not a place for us. Read more

Great little restaurant, parking is tight, ( especially in back) but food was well worth it. Had the triple club, they bring... you a ton of fries , next time will definitely try a footlong hot dog, lots of locals eat here seems like. Small dining area but the food is delicious. Read more
I grew up just a few blocks away in the 1960?s and 70?s and one of my brother?s still lives in neighborhood! Been eating at the... Jak?n Jil all my life and always will! Judy and I had the Hamburger Steak Dinner with Fries and Coleslaw! Like always?.Great! Been across the country and back this summer hitting every little hometown, still locally owned Diner we could andthere?s a lot of good ones out there! This place is an establishment of local lore of Cville. Love going in and being dropped into a time machine when entering the... building. Loved seeing history and the home town feel of the place. The staff were friendly and service was quick. Had thecheese burger and fries. The cheese burger was good though I will say we have found another place that is better. The burgerhere was well seasoned and had good flavor. The fries on the other hand were very plentiful and well cooked and seasoned withseason salt. They were soooo good. A Charlottesville institution since I went to UVA in the 80s. A must if you're in town. Try the foot long hot dog with chili &... onions. The Greek salad is also excellent. I would have given it 5 stars but they don't take credit cards. I had to use anexpensive ATM to get the money I need it for my meal. Make sure you have cash with you. Some of the Charlottesvilleinstitutions have been closing down recently. E.g. Little John's. Support this iconic spot. Read more
Hot dog was stale. Ordered a loaded chili dog. Fries were overcooked. Place only accepts cash. We're still in a pandemic and... cash is the only form of payment. Place is usually packed to the point where you can't get down the street. Very disappointinglunch. NY makes better hot dogs. Sorry. Read more
First time eating here. I had the Greek burger which was on point. They do give you butt load of fries ????. Next time just one... order instead of 2 lol. My wife and can share ???? ??. The only hang up I have They accept cash only, praise God they had an ATM???? ???????? in the back. Read more
