As a Filipino-American, finding quality and authentic Filipino food is always a challenge when you move from city to city. I?ve... been fortunate enough to live in LA, DC, and NYC and have overall access to decent Filipino food; however, despite all of theFilipino food I?ve eaten over the years, Manila Street in Charlottesville, VA takes the cake for the best Filipino food I?veever had (just don?t tell my mom!).\n\nManila Street is owned by Fernando and his family who immigrated from the Philippines toCharlottesville over thirty years ago; I had a feeling that the restaurant would be special when I saw Fernando?s parentsdiligently preparing everything earlier in the morning. I stuck to my roots and ordered pancit (noodles), pork belly sisig, lumpia (egg rolls), and of course fluffy white rice. The food was incredibly authentic, delicious, and reminded me of my mom?shome cooking, but better (again, sorry Mom).\n\nNow that I have family living in Charlottesville, I look forward to coming heremore often and get my Filipino fix. Keep up the great work and see y?all again soon! Read more

There\'s no higher compliment than \'phenomenal\'! My childhood best friend was Filipino, which inherently gave me several... aunties -- so let\'s just say that my taste buds are certified authenticity detectors! ????\n\nTraditional tastes/flavors, SPOTON! I live over an hour away - but whenever in Charlottesville, definitely take Manila Street! ???????? Read more

Lumpia was very good. Would recommend it.\n\nThe BBQ pork was simply okay. The rice it was served with was substandard: cold,... clumpy, random hard grains. Not a great texture. Read more

Adobo chicken and pancit was so tasty and the portion was very large, enough for two people to share. Get another order of... lumpia and two people will definitely be full. Read more

Mm mm good. And huge servings...... always ends up being 2 meals. The adobo and BBQ meats are equally delish.

Took trays of lumpia, pancit, steamed rice, chop suey, and pork BBQ to a Memorial Day Weekend party last week. EVERYONE loved... the food! Other times we have gone there and ate inside the dairy market. Always good, and portions are always generous. Soglad they are at the Dairy Market. Really love the ladies that work the front too - so sweet! Read more
