Steak 'n Shake is my go to place when I want a great burger. It is the closest place for me to get one but that isn't the only... reason. The burgers are made to order, typically come dressed with onion, great pickles, and ketchup but you can customize thatif you prefer mustard, lettuce or mayo. I always just have them add mustard and mine is perfect! There are several differentcombos or meals you can order or just order individually off the menu. If you order a meal which includes a drink you canupgrade to one of their great milkshakes for an extra $2. My go to order is the #7 which is a Double Steak Burger and Fries for$3.99. I often order two so I can take it for lunch and reheat it the next day! Read more

Steak and shake used to be a good experience. Now it's awful. Used to be hard to find a seat. Now it seems they are pretty... much devoid of customers. Instead of a waiter or waitress, you tap what you want into a kiosk. Then, no matter what you tap,you get whatever they decide to give you. We had two lousy burgers with the wrong toppings (and the right ones) and cold fries.The kiosk wouldn't accept my wife's gift card. To go from being one of the best to this.
