Good restaurant for family dinner or friends dinner. A little too loud and uncomfortable crowd for a date-night. Food: 5-star.... We had pesto pasta and falafel sandwich. Both were delicious. Drinks were 3/5. Could be better, but felt standard. Beersselection was 5/5 if you are into German beers, or local crafts. Desert menu left much to be desired. Did not feel like tryinganything. Service was attentive and at par with what you expect at such a restaurant. Nothing special, not bad. Read more

I've been here twice now and enjoyed both experiences. I came once for happy hour and a second time for brunch. One time I had... reservations and the other I did not but was seated immediately during both occasions. Staff was friendly. Max was our serverboth times and did an excellent job being attentive and friendly. Happy hour snacks were good. The brunch burger and teasandwich board were excellent from the Alice in Wonderland pop up. My husband and I will definitely return. Read more

Very nice place to eat and have a relaxing time. Place is not loud and we didn't encounter any obnoxious people. That can ruin a... place for me. Made a reservation, went in and was seated right away. We went on a Thursday night 8pm. Dont know if i needed tomake a reservation because it wasn't crazy busy. Our waitress was really nice and checked up on us often. She recommended itemsfor us and always had a nice welcoming smile on her face. Farmhouse style restaurant is nice for pictures if you like to post onsocial media. It's a little on the dark side for decent pics without a flash. It's like having a candle light dinner which isnice though. Drinks were good and were out quickly. Entrees came out within 15min or so. Eventhough my food was good, I left alittle hungry and finished my plate fast lol. The reason I took away 1 star is because it was a little pricey and on myparticular dish,(filet mignon) I didn't get enough bang for the buck. Would like to go back again and try some different dishesI had my eye on. Read more

This is one of the most well known and popular restaurants in Clifton, NJ area, unique for it’s farm house style establishment... and esthetic interior. We gave it try on a Sunday evening, and were lucky to a table w/o reservation, it was packed inthere. They have a decent menu with good variety of items. We liked the deviled eggs, Mac & cheese from starters. But inentrees, it was disappointing. Pasta was okay, but Po’boy was needs some improvement. The bread was too big and thick, toastedw/o any flavor like butter or such. The shrimp was fried too, which kinda made the combo worse. Despite the food, I throughlyenjoyed their interior. The people at the front and serving, all were kind and friendly to us. Read more

So I almost gave this amazing establishment 5 stars The only reason why I didn’t give it a full five stars is not because I... did not enjoy the food. Food was amazing! Pizza was great (meat lovers). A little too greasy but I don’t mind folding mypizza and draining it off… We got some chicken fingers as appetizers! Guess what?! Ranch and honey is an amazingcombination. If I had more room I would have eaten the short rib grilled cheese but there is a bottom to my stomach afterall. What took away from the 5 stars and what may help me revise my review to 5 stars later was the service. Not good Almostdecent Just needed a little more attentiveness. Just a bit more. Maybe they were busy… all good. Would 100% come back I’llsee you soon short rib grilled cheese sandwich! Read more

A huge thank you to Melissa Ortez and the entire staff at The Barrow House for hosting our wedding reception cocktail-hour... followed by a three course plated dinner in the Barn. They completely blew us away with their attention to detail, level ofexpertise, professionalism, service and day-of dining experience. Not only was the food delicious, it was stunningly presentedand our guests raved!.. especially over unique offerings like their grilled-cheese shooters and NY Strip steak! The drinkoptions were diverse and top shelf, ranging from a robust selection of local craft beers on tap to the Barrow’s handcraftedspecialty cocktails. The Barrows’s bar specialist, Jess, helped us select two wine pairings to compliment our menuoptions. The staff was upbeat, polite and attentive in a way that felt like family! Throughout the many months leading up tothe event, Melissa was calm, prepared and warm in her communication. She made vendor recommendations, floor-plan suggestions andtasting appointments. Melissa and the staff accommodated us a day ahead to drop off boxes of decor and supplies, including an8ft backdrop for our florist. We can’t wait to visit again and again, bringing friends and family back with us to enjoy thedrinks, food and rustic atmosphere. We highly recommended The Barrow House for your micro-wedding or any event! Fabulous environment, experience and food. The place has great old school ambience with many tables and rooms. It's spacious... inside and can host a separate group of people too. Drinks- They have amazing cocktails as well as beerselections. Appetizers- We tried corn bread and shishito peppers and both were super delicious. Entre- Being vegetarian Iordered cauliflower tacos and my husband ordered salmon. Both were good. Cauliflower tacos were little dry for my taste butquantity was sufficient. Highly recommend this place for date nights, birthdays. Friends gathering etc. Read more

Fabulous experience! From the moment we were seated, the warm quaint feeling and experience of this establishment has us in... anticipation of our next future visit! The atmosphere is an awesome warm feeling of being at a lodge in the colonial times. Ourwaiter Brandon was excellent and a Craftsman at his trade. The food was top-notch including the entrees and desserts! We willdefinitely be back and it is worthy of all five stars! Read more
