Went for dinner but weren't feeling sushi so decided to get katsu curry instead. My girlfriend and I waited over an hour before... it was cooked, and when it came out the meat was burned and the curry was completely flavorless. We had one bite and told thewaitress the situation and she said we didn't have to pay for our meal. I'm sure the sushi is fine, but don't offer menu itemsthat the restaurant can't cook. Read more

The vegie tempura was very good. The miso soup was tasty and we enjoyed the sweet potato fries for appetizers.

I've been coming to Kura since they've opened. For decades it's been my go to sushi spot! However, it's really gone downhill. We... placed a take out order and were told 35 minutes. I arrived 40 minutes later and 3 separate staff members "looked into it" andthen walked away, and never returned. A huge line formed behind me and no one was helped! After an additional 10-15 min my orderfinally came out. I understand they were busy and staffing is an issue for everyone, however there were empty tables and Icounted at least 5 waitstaff (smaller restaurant) so was really confused as to what took so long and why the first couple ofstaff members couldn't be bothered! We ordered the bronco roll, always good, sauteed calamari, and Shogun roll. The calamari wasice cold (too cold to be just from my 5 min drive home), we had to throw it in the air fryer...the Shogun roll was $14 for 5pieces...I understand the cost of goods are increasing and support restaurants increasing menu prices to reflect this; however,it is totally not cool that they cut back on the roll size too! If I had known this, I would have ordered 2 broncos and wouldnot have paid $3 a piece for the Shogun... Unfortunately after this experience we will be looking for a new go-to sushi spot. Read more

The service is fine and Nigiri is exceptional. It became my favorite sushi restaurant in town. * They overcharged me (to my... credit card later) one time. Read more

This review is for a recent take out order and does not speak to the food or service of a dine-in experience. I placed a pick up... order online and chose an available pick up time and it was delivered within a couple of minutes of my requested time. Iunderstand that this may not always happen due to the amount of business the restaurant is experiencing. My order consisted ofsome sushi items as well as some kitchen items. I tend to customize some of the sushi to suit my daughters and this has alwaysbeen accommodated. Since this was an online order the restaurant called to make sure they had all the correct information for myorder, which has been typical of my orders. I know the reviews are very mixed with this restaurant and I am not speaking againstany of the reviews. I am sure that there have been inconsistencies and negatives with dine in and take out orders. This reviewis strictly for this particular experience, which was quite positive. Also, my past several experiences have been positive. Thephoto attached is of the sushi portion of the order which I always transfer to my own dish. The presentation has always beenwith care, even on a take out order, but who wants to eat sushi from a take out container! Read more

Great Japanese restaurant. Usually it's a 10/10 recommend. However the last time I went the rice was extremely undercooked and... they took the bowl of food and never returned a new entree or deducted it from the bill... Read more

Kura makes great sushi?depending on the time and day. But DO NOT order from here within an hour and half of closing. we used to... regularly order from here at least once of week. But when schedules changed we started ordering later at night- and the qualitytook a serious dive. One night we ordered hot spicy tuna rolls - same thing we always get. What we ordered was not what we got?it was half tuna/half crab and spicy Mayo. I brought them back in to say I got the wrong order (I?m mildly allergic to crab) -and the manager came out and tried to gaslight me- instead of saying sure ?let me remake that? - she rudely stated ?this is howthe the hot spicy tuna sushi has been made this way for 16 years and the recipe is not going to change for you!? I tried toexplain that we had regularly ordered this for last few months.. and the hot spicy tuna - was always tuna?.not crab. the menudoesn?t state ?the tuna? contains crab?. We decided to give them another try and for a while things were ok. Until we orderedlater one night again- we have since come to realize- that if you order takeout after 7:30- everything you order - will containcrab/spicy Mayo. Maybe they get lazy- maybe they run low on supplies. But after 7:30- prepare for your rolls to fall apart, rubbery skimpy meat, and lots of crab. Read more

First time I went here I got violently ill. It was during covid. I suspect the fish was less than fresh. Finally went and gave... em a second shot and I get a roll that doesn't have the ingredients throughout. Definetly disappointed. Not worth themoney. Also. Why is every slice slightly different in size? Slightly off is whatever. This is a bit stupid. The bottom of myroll was also not cut all the way through. Is it that hard to care about what you're doing? Have some respect for the art andthe product. Read more
