The food was really good, wish the tortillas were house made instead of tasting like Mission Tortilla. It was difficult to enjoy... the food as our service was TERRIBLE. My husband didn?t receive a plate, so he used the foil the tortillas were given to us in.We didn?t get a chip refill until the meal was basically done, and then we spent a good 20+ minutes just sitting?sitting?.andwaiting for the check to come. We had spent the day outdoors venturing the Garden of the Gods & Manitou Springs when a serious craving for Mexican food kicked... in. Me, my boyfriend & sister decided to pop by this restaurant and let me tell you, we will 100% be back anytime we are intown. First, we were seated quickly on the outside patio (dog friendly) which was great. Second, the service was lovely(attentive but not over bearing) and the food was DELICIOUS!! We moved here from Texas where there is no shortage of Mexicanrestaurants and I was truly impressed. We all ordered different dishes and shared and let me tell you, not one plate hadanything remaining when we were done. First time here and I?m amazed. The staff were very friendly. The food was soooo good. The chips were brought with three... different salsas: spicy, mild and sweet. I had a strawberry margarita because it was happy hour:) and I could tell theydefinitely did not skimp on the tequila. And the sweet salsa definitely took some bite out of the spicy rice and beans. First time here and I will not be going back. I'm going to be brutally honest, the food is not good. I don't know why it has... such great reviews. I chalk it up to everyone having different tastes. However, I was really let down with how inauthentic itis. The flour tortillas are store bought and the food really lacks in flavor. I got one shredded chicken soft taco. The chickentasted like it was boiled in chicken broth with no other seasoning. I also got a pork soft taco. The pork had a smokey flavorbut it didn't do it for me. I thought maybe the rice and beans could make up for it but those weren't good either. The salsa wasmade with fire roasted tomatoes and was bland. I couldn't even finish the food that's how bad it was. I didn't dine in, so Ican't speak for the service. But as far as the food goes, completely dissatisfied and not worth the money I paid for it. Wonderful spot. Changed ownership in 2019. Delightful staff and not the least busy midday on Saturday. We sat on the covered... patio (roof, not just awning/umbrellas) and we?re quite comfortable despite 100 degree heat. Delicious tacos. Priced ok - butgood food. Good drinks too! We will come back. We just stumbled upon this place, and we're glad we did! We shared the artichoke dip with chips and vegetables. The bread bowl... was warm and fresh. We also each ordered the buffalo chicken wrap. It has a little spice to it, which blue cheese makes it sodelicious! Didn't like that the prices were not on the menu. Wasn't quite sure how much we spent until we got our bill. :( Read more
