Worst French restaurant l have been to in my life. The server was very rude and if she had worked for me, I would have fired her... on the spot! I have been to Paris at least a dozen times and Slate Bleu would have closed down within a week. Anyone who wants agreat meal, just go to Honey on Shewell Ave. Read more

Whoa, seriously delicious! Baked oysters were wonderful and an unexpected surprise. The poisson soupe brought me back to... Marseille, and the chicken liver was heart-warming and perfectly balanced with the crepe, corn and cream. I do have to say thatI didn?t love the beef tartare, but it doesn?t matter as everything else was great. Good wines by the glass and super friendlyservice made for a nice dinner during a weekend away in Doylestown. Just be aware that it is not cheap to dine here - dinnerfor a family of four was just over $200. Read more

Great meal last night. Great experience overall. Sound cooking, skate was perfect, and that dark chocolate-orange ice cream,... still grinning from it. Proud to have a restaurant with a kitchen/chef/chefs cooking so fundamentally sound in our town. Service(Jared I believe sorry if it's not, hope I'm close at least) was tops. Tending bar, taking orders, running food...ALLgracefully. Treat to experience and watch. Kudos all around, and grateful for the experience, thank you! Read more

Been going here for years with my date and also with professional girlfriends and even brought friends from out of town. 9 out... of 10x sat at the bar, had drinks, and always ate at the bar, occasionally at the table. Last week after the car show agirlfriend and I walk in, and there are 7 empty seats at the bar and multiple tables. The madame stops us from sitting at thebar, would not allow us to sit at the other bar seats either; told us we had to have a reservation to sit at the bar. She toldme that policy started 3 yrs ago. Not true! I sat at that bar 3 yrs ago and beyond. She was rude and arrogant. She made us feelnot good enough. Did she not like 2 women sitting there? Did she think we wouldn't spend money? We always did before. It feltlike a degrading rejection. She made us feel like she didn't want us there. We were dressed nicely. Read more

We've been meaning to try here for so long and now that my schedule allows... Wow...I had high expectations and they were well... exceeded. Spectacular food, absolutely delightful pre-dinner/aperitif cocktail (frozen grapefruit martini), exceptional servicethat was perfectly paced (thank you Jared). Each course kept outdoing the previous, wrapping up with perhaps the best ice creamI have ever eaten (dark chocolate orange) and I've eaten ALOT of ice cream. Get a reservation and enjoy a truly wonderful diningexperience. Read more

The chef here clearly cares quite deeply for traditional french cooking. My neighborhood in Brooklyn is full of french staple... brunch spots with the usual tasty but repetitive french dishes. Slate Bleu is not afraid to take their French dining experienceto the next level, with deeply authentic dishes such as housemade Rabbit Paté, and Sautéed chicken liver. For the adventurousgourmand, their offerings are well worth the call ahead reservation. I have been here twice now. A few years back I wasfortunate to try the calf liver, but this year I was (initially) disappointed to see chicken liver in its place. I should nothave been concerned. I decided to be a little brave and order the Sautéed chicken liver. My initial trepidation instantlyevaporated when the meal arrived. Up to this point, I had only ever found chicken liver palatable in a well-spiced paté. SlateBleu?s chef serves it on a delicate corn crepe, generously topped in a sherry shallot sauce. The chicken liver is sliced thinly, and perfectly cooked, with none of the grainy minerality I would usually associate with an inexpensive meat. The liver wastransformed into something else entirely; each morsel, buttery rich, creamy and utterly decadent. It completely blew away myexpectations for what was possible for chicken liver, and it is a meal I will be thinking about for a long time. The chef andthe owner should be very proud of that dish in particular. I came away from that dish tempted to try it out again at home but Istrongly suspect I will not be able to replicate it. Wonderful local treasure in Doylestown! The food has a French flair, is always fresh, and if you have the chance eat at the bar.... The Cocktails that they have created are truly hand crafter! I had the gnocchi, and will definitely have again. Read more
