4/5 solely because of the 4 tostones costing $5, and only the top one having cheese on top. The arepas— ordered El Pabellon... per recommendation—were a delicious mix of flavors, nicely stuffed, brisket was very flavorful although not the most tender(can look past it, the flavor was that good). New to the area, my family and I swung by the small storefront on a whim without any expectations. The food was... fantastic—we’ll be back. We had the arepas (the brisket won hands down, but the Vegan one was good too), and split theappetizer sampler as well. On the heavier side, but a great option downtown! Read more
Delicious Venezuelan arepas! Two good veggie options (one of which is vegan). The vegetarian mushroom tacos are also delicious,... although a little salty. The staff is really friendly. Lots of food for a reasonable price! Right now they are serving food intakeout containers but you can still dine in. Read more
We had La Cocinita cater the late night bite for our wedding and their arepas were a huge hit! They drove their food truck to... our venue in St. Charles, Illinois, cooked the arepas on location, plated them in portable containers, and had a staff memberserve them to our guests. The wedding was two weeks ago and we are still getting comments about how guests wished they wouldhave eaten more arepas! The arepas were absolutely authentic and delicious and we can’t wait to go back to eat them again. Oneof our favorite aspects of the whole catering process was how easy it was to work with the team. We set up a tasting with Rachela few months before the wedding and she did a great job introducing us to their menu, answered all of our questions, andseamlessly integrated the arepas into our wedding plan. Kids taco and La Llanera arepas are not tasty at all. They did not have any taste compared to other similar Latin restaurants... dishes. The bowl looks okay. Read more
Great arepas with an affordable price. You get 2 arepas of your choice for ~$12 that are decently sized (considering that some... places in chicago charge $12-15 for one of the same size). I got the brisket and the steak both were great and had a goodamount of filling. The yuca fries were ok, I would not order again. They offer indoor dining. I think the only thing theyneed to work on is getting more dipping sauce options. Read more
