Went into Dickey's and found that place quaint and cozy but the floor felt little sticky. The menu is extensive but the way it's... placed is literally a strain on the neck, but once you taste the food everything else is irrelevant! The food is expensive but Ifelt it was worth it. In a word: okra. Nobody gets it right, but these folks do! Crisp on the outside, tender on the inside, not mushy. This was my... first time ordering here. My first impression was it's not "real" bbq... not off the grill or slathered in sauce. But you get toput your preferred type and amount of sauce on, so I appreciate that. I'm highly disappointed with the customer service experience during my most recent visit to this restaurant. If I could give a... no-star rating, I would. To be quite honest, my mother had received better in the past but we deserved much better than what wasprovided. The manager on duty, Friday, June 30, 2022 at 2 pm failed to perform to the best of his knowledge, skills andabilities. While my mother and I were there, he was reluctant to fulfill a simple request for an order to cater to 8 people. Idon't understand the reason because the menu has various options "to feed up to 10 people" clearly indicated. Nevertheless, themanager denied that these reflected updated information. Then, he prompted us to contact the owner for a different replynumerous times. Therefore, we have chosen to not return to this location anymore. Please resolve the issue immediately. It was good, but not great. I prefer Shawn's BBQ in Fredericksburg. The potato salad tasted like it was bought from a grocery... store and the beans weren't completely done, some were soft and some crunchy(?)- grocery store beans would have been animprovement. Wow!! Just wow!!! I walked in and was greeted immediately! The restaurant is so clean and organized. The bathroom was very clean... and fresh. Now to the food, I ordered the Old School Plate which featured Brisket and Kielbasa. I chose the Jalepeno CheddarKielbasa which is so spicy and juicy it's mouthwatering! I got the Jalepeno Beans and Baked Potato Casserole which were bothdelicious! I want to highlight Essence and Aaron for the top tier customer service!!!! Update 3/26/21: After being reached out to by a member of management was taken care of with great customer service. Hopefully... going forward Bakers will be more readily available. Rating adjusted for 2* to 4* for customer service. Great tasting barbecuebut poorly ran location. Have been multiple times and they are either under prepared or under staffed. Even in the COVID era, the staff is doing what they can to serve up tasty smoked meats. Gotta say that their vinegar sauce is... one of the tastiest I?ve ever had. The rolls were also quite soft and went well with the meats. The brisket as well as pulledpork are my favorites in town. I?m definitely going back.
