If you came to Galiano and didn't come to Pilgrimme you basically didn't come at all. If it was socially acceptable to lick the... plate I would lick every plate. The chefs have pushed their fresh, local ingredients to their absolute limits, offering a uniquetaste that you will not find anywhere else. When others say they came to the island JUST to eat here - this restaurant reallylives up to the hype. It's pricey but worth every cent. Come early as they're only open from 5 to 9 and they fill up prettyfast. Read more
IMHO, very unusual restaurant. I don't remember lining up in front of the diner well before its' opening time. Ever. Service was... quick and nice. The food (you may want to take a look at the menu I uploaded) is different comparing to other places. I'm not100% sure whether it was a special Sunday menu but we didn't see quite common beef, chicken or seafood. Having said that, thefood was delicious. The portions were smaller even for our post-Covid times. Whole atmosphere including furniture, music,servers soft voices was kind of special. You can see very smart marketing in every tiny detail. We were able to go to this much talked about restaurant as they do walk ins now. Food was beautifully plated and sublime. ... Service staff are attentive . They also have combined with Charmer Pizza - sourdough pizza so you can enjoy that as well. Wechose the sharing plates with wine and on a hot summer day on their patio it was perfect. Beautiful setting and we feelfortunate that Pilgrimme has opened up to walk ins now. Read more
We got a reservation for the 12-course tasting menu with wine pairing and sat outside on the patio. What a perfect evening it... was! The food was expertly crafted with local ingredients and the different wine carefully selected from the best wineries inBC. We can’t wait to go back next time we are on Galiano. Pilgrimme is a unique concept bistro. Its tucked away in a quiet, forested part of the island with a relaxed vibe. The ladies... who sat me down were very friendly and explained that they source local ingredients from around the island and their menuchanges based around what’s available at the time. It’s also the reason they’re not able to do substitutions for things soexpect to order and eat what’s on the menu, it’s perhaps not a friendly dining option for someone with a limited diet orallergies. It was a cool June evening (come early, I reached at 515 pm almost right after they opened) and saw that they warnedgroups coming in after me that it would be about an hour wait. There isn’t a place to wait and have a few drinks, it’s asmaller restaurant with limited space. They take their time with things so this is not a dine and dash place (and shouldn’t beeither because it seems they put alot of love and creativity into their menu). I ordered the tuna and duck egg with arugula andit was very nice. For dessert the vanilla pudding with a mix of a compote , strawberries, some sort of mixed candied nuts wasawesome! I don't know what to say..... I was very sad they put away the testing menu...... But the new menu was soooooo good, We had... amazing evening. The food was amazing, if you are in Galiano island must to try this restaurant. Rhubarb Galette was myfavorite which no on the menu. Highly recommended come eat at Pilgrimme!!!!! I know people come to Galiano for sightseeing,but really, I came to Galiano for Pilgrimme! Good news is now you don't make reservation till they changed their mind ???? Read more
World class restaurant, tucked away in a beautiful rustic cabin on Galiano Island. This restaurant is worth making a trip to the... island for and would be worthy of a couple michelin stars if they existed in Canada. I'll be revisiting every time I'm onGaliano. Read more
