Stayed at this hotel overnight the room was beautiful. Very clean Meals are not included though so take this into consideration... but there is an excellent pub restaurant downstairs but but be aware the menu changes at night, The burgers are excellent butthey do not offer them on the night menu. Dined here on a very busy night and despite that, both the food and service were incredible. Our server was very patient with... our young kids and made great suggestions to accommodate them. Hats off to the staff last night at The British! It was a table of 12 and the occasion was a special 18th birthday. The... celebrated young lady travelled from California to be with us. Lexi looked after us in excellent fashion - bringing out thebirthday cake at the perfect time, and there was special technical help provided to us - regrettably I did not get her name butshe saved the night. Her help enabled our video and sound to be uploaded onto the TV monitors throughout the restaurant. Thepatrons saluted the young lady with applause and shouts of Happy Birthday after the video was shown and so she was perfectlyfeted and somewhat embarrassed! Best hotel experience I have ever had. I was nervous because of other reviews but the staff were helpful and accommodating. We... came here for our honeymoon. Our original room had a breaker issue which we were patient to wait and have fixed but the staffupgraded our room instead. It also is a little tricky if you are out and about after hours. Just ask the staff to show you howto get back in. It's easy once you know. Gorgeous rooms and so clean. Friendly staff. Great food and drinks. The neighbourhoodis so cool and has so much history. Waterfront is a short walk away. Everything has been perfect. In fact, we spent a day justhanging out in the hotel because of how awesome it is. I am so sad we check out tomorrow. I don't know what is happening between the kitchen and the waiting staff, but twice now we've had food sit to be picked up under... a heating lamp. Our nachos sat there for 20 mins and only after I said something to the waiter, were they given to us. My kidsfries came cold and I waited for over an hour for a salad of spinach, beats and a little goat cheese, something that would take10 mins to make. The restaurant isn't full either when this has happened. I observed waiters just chatting away or eating theirown food from the kitchen, prepared before paying customers. Went recently for the first and last time. I know they are short staffed but this was super unimpressive. We waited well over an... hour for an appetizer and a burger dish and it was around 2pm. I don?t think I?ve ever had service that slow for such a smallorder. After being ready the plates didn?t arrive together. When it arrived the burger was on a plate by itself no fries. Tookanother 5 min at least before the fries came out separately despite being one dish. Burger was super over cooked and dry. Theside patio is gravel and littered with cigarette butts everywhere. The tables are just randomly placed everywhere. The patioumbrellas are flimsy and the umbrella at the table beside knocked over on us and nearly hit my husband in the head. Terrible. Read more

Overall a terrible experience. The service was extremely slow, we didn't see a server for 20 minutes. She dropped off two menus... and walked away quickly and we didn't see her again for another 15 minutes. Finally, we ordered 2 beers and a plate of nachos,they ran out of nachos so we ordered wings. The beers came 20 minutes later but we waited for 1 hour for the wings that neverarrived. The server never even asked us if we wanted a second drink. We were there at 1:30pm and left at 3:00pm, all that wasaccomplished was having only the one drink. Very disappointing. Read more

We were there yesterday! What a terrible experience! We sat on the front patio and waited for 20 minutes for a server to come... over to order a drink and food. There was only one other couple on the patio. It took another 20 minutes to actually gets ourBailey on Ice a total of an hour to get our food which consisted of an order of nachos and sweet potato fries. The food wasmediocre. Once done I had to chase the server twice to try and get our bill. What a disappointment as I had brought my friendthere to enjoy good food. Will never return! Read more
