Warm, rich wood tones all around. Stunning wood mouldings make for woodworkers eye candy. The food selection is varied and the... ones my party consumed are delicious! The lake views are spectacular! Read more

Beautiful castle only bad part was dinner. Worst steak I've ever had. Overcooked with zero seasoning, not even salt and pepper.... Salmon overcooked and tasteless. Have made better at home. The only good thing was the rolls. Not worth the prices. Other thanthat, enjoyed our stay at the castle Read more

I really wanted to like Edgar's. Unfortunately, it fell really short. We had reservations and were seated on time. However, we... sat at the table for 20 minutes (not exaggerated) before any of the wait staff even acknowledged us. I got the Curry Vegetabledish--there was zero flavor and the vegetables were all squashes. When I expressed to the waiter that I could not taste thecurry, the chef sent out a plastic cup of curry paste that I had to rigorously mix into the dish myself...at a fine dinningrestaurant (yikes) . The crotons in the salads were store bought, the cheesecake was store bought, and service was beyondslow. Between courses, the dirty plates sat in front of us for no less than 20-30 minutes. My glass was empty for extendedperiods of time. Our bill was nearing $300. I expect a lot higher of service for that price Read more

I am being generous by giving them one star. By far the worst meal we?ve had in years. I most say the bread was good and the... crab cakes were ok. The prime rib and the ribeye were both awful, no taste, tough and overcooked . It is a shame because theplace is magnificent, beautiful views of the lake and gorgeous grounds Read more

Magnificent evening on the beautiful grounds with views of the lake. The food was absolutely delicious. You need to plan an... evening here by reservation but it is worth it. The decor of the restaurant is filled with antiques reminiscent of another era.The service was excellent and we enjoyed relaxing on the lawn after to enjoy the view. Read more

The castle is beautiful, the grounds are gorgeous, and the food was delicious. They are very short staffed (and would love to... have you come in for an interview), but they took good care of us. The steaks were amazing, and gumbo was tasty with a suttlesmoky flavor and a light kick. It was even better as left overs! We enjoyed ordering a few desserts and sharing. Peanut butterpie was very rich, Pistachio cheesecake was sweet and a fun and unique dessert (it is quite sweet!). The apple pie and ice creamwas everything it should be. Read more

We stayed at Belhurst Castle on a Wednesday night. I really wanted to eat at Edgar's. I called earlier in the week, but... reservations were booked. When we arrived we checked at the restaurant and they were still full. We stopped by a little laterand they seated us in the bar area at a table (as they were still full). Service was great! The bartender/waiter was veryattentive. The food was good, but the atmosphere was great. I thought my dinner was a little pricey - $50 for 6 jumbo scallopsover white rice and a few peas on top. Wine was expensive too. $34 for the same bottle we had just purchased in their wine shopfor $19. If we brought our own bottle, there was a $15 fee. Dessert was excellent. It was a nice quiet dinner.
