Rochambeau - A true small-town gem! Our server was fantastically personable and such a gracious host. The chef was kind enough... to create a vegan dish “on the fly” due to three people in our party having certain restrictions. The food was superb andthe ambience was very intimate. My family will absolutely be visiting again soon! Read more

Went here for the first time for their Valentine's dinner. Very nice, intimate setting, good for parties <6. Very good service.... Authentic French cuisine. Extensive wine list and some of the best cocktails in the area. Truly a treasure in the small town itresides. Be prepared for the higher prices per plate, however. Read more

This was one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten at. I had French onion soup for a starter the best if I have ever... had. My main course was scallops with risotto, and Brussels sprouts. The scallops were prepared perfectly. Our meal wasfinished off with Napoleon dessert that was simply delicious. The service was superb. There is nothing I would have changedabout my dining experience. Read more

We went to Gordonsville on a Sunday and not many things were open. We were delighted to see that this little French restaurant... was though, and our experience was fantastic from beginning to end. We were there for brunch and it was out of this world and wehope to come back for the dinner menu. The lobster bisque and French onion soups were both the best we've had. I had an amazingeggs benedict and my husband had a terrific quiche, which is saying a lot since he rarely likes eggs. the service wasoutstanding. Drive here for this- it will not disappoint! We had the pleasure of dining at Restaurant Rochambeau tonight. We have eaten here multiple times but when it was Pomme. I was... cautiously optimistic when we arrived. I was unprepared for the amazing evening we had. The service was fabulous but the foodwas incredible. Chef prepared the filet, the lamb and the bouillabaisse for our table. Each dish was better than the next. Mybouillabaisse was sublime. After dinner we enjoyed the creme brulee and then Chef brought out a delightful chocolate mousse withstar anise. I normally don’t eat dessert but this was amazing. Kaylee and Colleen took amazing care of us. We enjoyed it somuch we will be back Sunday for brunch! Read more

I have had this place on my “restaurant bucket list” for over a year, and was so excited to make this visit happen. We... traveled a couple hours along the Shenandoah National Park to get here, and showed up around 6pm for dinner. My wife and I havehad a few years of French, so it was fun reviewing the menu which was mostly written in French (with English descriptions). Mywife and I choose two different daily specials and my daughter ordered off the menu. Most menu options run $25-40, with a fewcheaper salad options. Restaurant is conveniently located in town and has lovely décor. The waitress was very young, but supernice. To be honest she went above and beyond during our visit. The owner stopped by for a meal while we was there and took thetime to explain the restaurant name to the table beside us. The food looked amazing, but I personally did not feel the qualityor volume of food did NOT matched the price. To be honest, we left the restaurant and went up the road to order dessert fromanother establishment. The waitress made the comment they had a new French chef, so maybe we schedule our visit on a bad day.The presentation was nice, but that’s about it. I feel this place has so much to offer, but falls short on the one thing theyare supposed to excel at. Read more

Our food was excellent. The quality and presentation were as good or better than its predecessor, Pomme. The front of the house... is still getting trained but the enthusiasm and eagerness to please and get things right was palpable. The bar is not yet inplace so there are limited wine selections but the wines by the glass we selected were quite good. Read more
