Pretty solid. The reviews here aren’t super high not really sure why. The size of the dishes are quite small while the price... is high. Otherwise I can’t think of a particular problem. Read more

The view is great, simple decor, food served and packaged to take out. We ate inside. The lobster roll was on a beautifully... buttered and toasted bun. It was heavy and had a bit of a sweet taste. The gespacho was a purée with bits of peaches and plums.Quite Pricey. Paid for the view. Read more

We had an amazing dinner at Halyard last night! It was my first time at the Sound View hotel and I was blown away by the... setting. Truly spectacular views and one of the best sunsets I’ve ever seen. We ordered the hummus appetizer which was notlike traditional hummus but was absolutely delicious! I had the fluke and my husband had the tuna and both entrees wereexcellent — perfectly cooked and delicious. Passionfruit sangria was so good! Highly recommend going — especially aroundsunset! Well there's a reason this a "must go to" restaurant - it knocks it out of the park in every way! Starting with the view, this... is a large, open and airy dining area with a glass wall facing the water so everyone can be memorized by the ocean waves. Thefood is at the higher end of the price scale but deserves every bit of it - a wide variety of choices that are expertly preparedand delicious. And there's no lack of staff paying attention to you. Another bonus - occasionally John performs piano in thebar next door and is so talented you might confuse him for Billy Joel or Elton John. After a couple of drinks take him up on hisoffer of karaoke but don't worry - he's ready to fill in those high notes for you if you need help! Read more

I was here for a special event including dinner and dancing. The food was excellent, it was a buffet style for the event, and... the floors were great for dancing. There was plenty of room for all of us plus the band, the acoustics sounded fine, and all therestaurant and event staff were very polite and professional to use. I had a great time here! Read more

The theme here is flexibility. Everything from the staff to the grounds was accommodating and there's always a little something... extra around the corner. One of my friend groups decided to make the trip to The Halyard and some vineyards from New York City(The BX & BK). When we arrived for lunch, the hostess was nice enough to check on which tables were available by the water per arequest from one of the members of our party. She was able to offer us one of those. I observed her to be efficient andprofessional as she moved about the restaurant. I mention this because sometimes restaurant staff sacrifice warmness forexpedience. This wasn't the case at The Halyard. We ordered several drinks from their cocktail menu (forgoing the wines becausewe were visiting vineyards afterwards). The "Garden Party" and "Paid Time Off" seemed to be that top two choices for the table. For appetizers we started with a dozen oysters and the Summer Truffle Tartine (The Tartine's taste was just fantastic!). We alsotried the seared "Hudson Valley" Fois Gras (there are a lot of textures and tastes in that one which might catch some people offguard). For mains, the table went with the Lobster Fra Diavolo and The Bear Battered Fish & Chips both great options! Afterlunch we took a look around the restaurant. On the exterior, on the Eastern end of the restaurant there's a little porch, theentrance to which is adorned with flowers. The area could easily be mistaken for restaurants I've seen in other countries likeItaly! The sound of the ocean made the scene feel romantic and magical! When you're done with that side of the restaurant, continue walking the outer perimeter until you reach the westernmost corner. If you did everything right, you timed your dinnerto coincide with the sun setting in the west. If you and your dinner companion don't want to go home yet, come back around tothe front of the restaurant. Walk down the path, past the hotel rooms and look for a stairway down to t Read more

This restaurant showcases breath taking views of the Long Island Sound and a small beach adjacent to the restaurant. The Dining... room is complimented by floor to ceiling windows as well as a small outdoor section for deck seating. Although this venue serveslunch and dinner Dinner time is the better choice as the setting sun provides a pastel and pink champagne hue across the horizonwhich is absolutely beautiful and accentuates the experience. I totally recommend the chowder soup to start followed by theSwordfish entree served on a bed of amazing creamy risotto rice and zucchini. Although I was celebrating a combo milestone eventof my son's high school graduation with Honors and about to embark on his freshman year, this would also be a nice intimatelocation for either a date, family gathering or a relaxing evening with a loved one introduced to the parents first time. MyWaitress informed that a wedding proposal occurred here just tge other evening which is the perfect venue for such an event. Therelaxed yet elegant ambiance just melts away all stress and soothes the soul, as one faintly hears Tom Petty's "Last Dance withMary-Jane" as well as the Band accents playing in the background. Almost neglected to mention a fantastic Piano Bar adjoiningthe main Dining Room. Finally, when calling in to set dinner reservations I could not help but notice "Classical Gas" playingin the background which was a fond reminder of that exhilarating Chess montage exhibited in the Netflix series "QueensGambit." Making for a very Good Omen for an anticipated Awesome Dinner Adventure! Read more
