Hartle's as I understand it to be is an area staple. Pretty much anytime I'm in town to visit my in-laws, we stop to grab a sub,... at minimum for when we get home. Their bread is very soft and absorbs any sub "juice" without becoming soggy. I've had prettymuch every type of sub on the menu and never been disappointed. Their cheeseburger sub is a fav amongst our family. Their soupshave also always been delicious. Nice to see local restaurants with history stay open through and after the pandemic. Fairpricing and good quantity of meat/toppings without having to ask for extra. Read more
Grew up in Hagerstown. Hartles has a long rich traffic in this community. Stopped there today to get some lunch. Subs were just... ok. Way too many onions and the roll was a little soggy from all the onion juice. The worst part was how unprofessional thestaff was. The lady was complaining and cussing the whole time about a co-worker and did not have the filter to wait until weleft. Then she apologized that we had to hear all that. Well we didn't have to hear. She should have kept her comments toherself until we left. I will not go back to that environment for a mediocre sub. Read more
I've been all over. Wherever I call home I try to find a quite place to eat, vibe, and just enjoy my surroundings. These places... are hard to fine, but after 3 months of living in Hagerstown I've found my spot. I'm a.simple man... always have been. Icouldn't ask for anything more from this brilliant place. 10/10 on customer service, food(touches your soul), atmosphere, andamazing family- welcoming vibe. Almost like a pub back home would feel, minus the spirit spirits.I felt welcomed andcomfortable... no bad energy. I look forward to my next visit and the many more to come. Sláinte Read more
Great subs but they are small for the amount of money you pay.
I've been going to this place for the past three years. I pop in a couple of times a week. I only eat a half a sub at a time so... I get 4 lunches out of two whole subs. I've never ever been disappointed with their food. When I order online and stop in topick up my order they see me and hand me my order without making me wait (because there's usually a queue). The place couldcertainly do with a bit of a makeover but I guess the owner isn't too bothered. The food and the staff especially the shortwoman and bloke with glasses are fantastic (I don't know their names but they know mine). Here's what I got today. One chickensalad and one tuna salad. Sorry for the condensation inside the box, I pulled it out of the fridge for a quick photo. Just lookat the food! You'll never get a sub like this from any franchise place. Read more
Service was quick, but if you like cheese steaks don't waste your time here. They're terribly bland, with seemingly little to no... seasoning to them at all. The meat doesn't even look like steak. Read more
The subs are pretty good, but if you ask for onions, you might want to ask for a side of sub to go with it, because they will... load them on! The fries tasted like dirty fryer grease, the crab soup had little to no crab meat in it and the crackers werestale. There were only 2 people working during lunch hour which slowed things down a bit. Also, unless you are paying cash, beprepared for them to tack on extra fees for paying with a card. This place has unfortunately gone downhill over the years. Read more
