I have been a customer of Hales for over 30 years. Overall, good food and service. However, today we ordered a French Dip... sandwich ($16.85) that was anything but. It was a bread sandwich with a thin single slice of beef. I took the time to pointthis out to our waitress. The unsatisfactory reply was that's always how the sandwich is prepared. No offer for reimbursementand no manager avai. We eat out frequently and always try to support our local businesses. Unfortunately, Hales has lost mybusiness forever. We stop in here from time to time. It's a staple of Hillsboro. And we like to have lunch here while I get my car work done next... door. The food is above diner quality. Friendly staff. They have a very large menu. A full bar too complete with video poker.The food is always fresh and what it advertises. I will continue to come back. 2022 - Brunch with my in-laws on 4th of July at Hale's was really fantastic. Wait time was short and the service was... great. Coffee was constantly filled and always checked if we needed anything. Food was good and right portions, greatlypriced. Read more

I think God himself may be whisking the eggs and pancake batter in the kitchen. My husband and I agreed that this is the best... breakfast we have ever had at a restaurant. The omelette was huge! The pancakes were perfection. The time from ordering toreceiving our meal was rather quick, and the ladies serving us were lovely...Sherry A was our waitress. This place felt like the restaurants I went to in the 70?s. The prime rib was a inch thick. Although the horseradish sauce... didn?t have a hint of horseradish. After a Bloody Mary it would have been easy to order another and skip the food. The ChickenMarsala stunk like alcohol, it tasted bad. Overly based in wine. I want my food to taste like food, and my alcohol to taste,well you know, like alcohol. Food was great, along with the prices! We went for their turn back time and till the end of August they will have turn back... Tuesday prices for select items/times. Even after these pricing are gone we will still come back, prices on menu were reasonablefor the amount of food. Also the staff is attentive too! Read more
