So I live very close to this restaurant and I can honestly say they have a lot of foot traffic. It is a neighborhood restaurant... with regulars. The inside is very nice and so is the outside setup. However the food needs work! I ordered the catfish with kaleand Mac and cheese. The catfish was fried nice but the kale needs seasoning and at least a hint of spice. Now the Mac and cheesewas absolutely horrible! I took one bite and trashed it. No seasoning what so ever, it was very bland and not what I expect Macand cheese to taste like. This is a nice spot, with good food and drink and outdoor/open air seating. I enjoyed my fried green tomato and grilled tofu... sandwich. Happy hour prices are great, too. It’s a relatively small establishment and they have a 75 minute table time max soour experience felt pretty rushed. The bill was placed on our table right after we got a drink after our meal. We went on aMonday night and there were definitely open seats in the House, so it felt a little odd to me. Just something to note ifyou’re going with someone you’d like to be able to talk with. Nice vibe and good food! The music selection was great...the DC vibe was appreciated (Chuck Brown ?)! Not black-owned for those... who are curious. We had shrimp and grits, salmon, vegan curry, and spicy greens. I wasn't a fan of the autumnal sangria...wishit was sweeter! I was so glad to taste a delicious vegan option. I fell in love with the the vegan curry...it had a great kickand was very tasty. I was worried that it wouldn't be good because of the squash but it was well seasoned and mesh of seasonalvegetables. They definitely offer good comfort food options. My dining partner said the grits were too cheesy but I overallenjoyed the food. We sat at the bar but there was plenty of seating available. Excellent everything. Sour beer was so pretty and such a great combo of sour, fruity & creamy. Catfish was perfecting cooked,... Coates and seasoned. The greens weren't overcooked or too salty (often happens) and the mac was nice & creamy. My server wasvery kind, attentive and prompt. Highly recommend & will be back! Read more
Lauren was just amazing. Came in to celebrate my friend’s birthday and the daily specials were provided along with happy hour... specials. Everything we can ask for was provided and I was glad we were served by Lauren. We will be back for the hospitality???? Read more
