Smash burger was great, no fries or chips. Beans were too salty. The room I ate in was too hot. $21 for about a $12.00 value.... Health issue: lady went to get a bag of ice from the freezer and threw the bag on the dirty floor a few times to break it up.Not good. Won?t be back for drinks or beans. And why are there no chips to purchase? Read more

Really enjoyed the burger. The sweet potato salad was also very tasty. It is your typical "hole in the wall" and could be a... little cleaner. Wife had the BLT and was good. Read more

They make their own beer! Good food too. Great for take away or seating inside and out

This is HANDS DOWN one of the best places to eat in Texas, much less down the "wine country" stretch of Hwy 290. The staff are... friendly, and Matt is one helluva cook! Some of the best sandwiches and burgers I've ever had have been from this establishment, and they have plenty of local wines and beers on hand to go with your meal as well. Also, the whole operation is run out of theold post office - which they've kept mostly intact - so there is a lot of original and interesting decor and furnitureinside. If you're in the area, and are wondering where to grab a bite to eat, do yourself a favor and stop by Hye Market. Youwon't regret it! Read more

Stopped for some sandwiches and we were not disappointed. This historic general store turned post office and restaurant is... historic and super Texan. The sandwiches were great and there was even options for vegetarians and vegans. Excellent hummus bythe way. Well worth a visit! Read more

Cute market that sells sandwiches, flatbreads and local wine, beers and ciders. Sandwiches are well made, flatbreads are tasty... and staff friendly, knowledgeable and willing to help in decision making. On this visit the only disappointing thing was a soupbilled as Oma & Opas soup. This was last chunks of turnip in hot water and the flavor could be best described as murky. But thereally good cookies and blackberry ice cream made up for it! Read more

This place was amazing and so glad we found it, when farm to table is the local gathering spot and offers so much from... Historical post office inside market, to scratch made food with sourced vegetables from their own farm/garden. A beer selectionstraight out of Austin so not just Coors and Shiner served here. So glad we got to meet the owner Jason as he introducedhimself while clearing our plates. What a story he shared about the building and his business. Can't wait to go back and do aday tour of Hye and Albert TX. Google Albert TX, well worth it. Read more
